I think a big part of the "Bluesky is dead" / "no it isn't" discourse comes down to a difference in what people expect from it. Those who enjoy it are using it socially - as social media - while those crying that it's dead only care about "engagement" and promoting themselves or their "brand".

People who are good at Mario Kart: I've done SO MANY knockout races where I've been in the lead for the entire race only to get hit by a bunch attacks in literally the last 10 seconds and end up coming 3rd - 5th. Is there ANYTHING I can actually do about this or is this just how the game is?

I tried the demo for Mecharashi yesterday, the game that started life as a new Front Mission before being rebranded, and I....don't love it. Now granted, part of this is because I played on Steam Deck and it doesn't have controller support (for some reason) so I have to use the trackpads, but...

More developers need to do this and push the announcement of games back until they're ready. They used that extra 20 minutes very well and the game looks great.

Honestly regardless of what I thought of the rest of it, the guy being allowed on stage wearing a "Make FPS Great Again" cap, in this political climate, really soured the entire Summer Game Fest show for me. Be better than this, @geoffkeighley.bsky.social
