How much pressure was there on Biden to drop out of the race and why so late?? Us not being able to pick our candidate royally screwed democrats and directly resulted in this. Democrats have to own how we got here.

Like honestly all the debating I’ve done today has felt largely fruitless and been exhausting.

Oh I certainly don’t think it exists in a vacuum. I just honestly barely have the spoons for what we have going on right now on top of my own personal life issues than to start extending myself into other countries as well.

Oh we all knew he was lying about project 2025. Either that or these people made his executive orders and he just signed them. He didn’t even read them. Just asked what they were.

No offense man but my immediate concern is where I live. Considering the current situation, home has to be my priority. It’s not that I don’t care about other countries and their issues, but they aren’t the top of the list for me. Can’t be. Maybe when we aren’t under a possible fascist.

Tbh I just blocked him. I don’t have time for it.

Don’t bother with angry people like this. They aren’t interested in nuance or productive conversation. They can’t accept that people aren’t going to just be on the same page inherently. Doesn’t mean people won’t but the rage approach guarantees they won’t.
comment in response to

Nope. Not interested in billionaires running for president and he doesn’t have an interest either. Which you’d know if you’d ever listened to him speak “on the podcast” lol. Be angry with someone else I’m not interested.

It doesn’t mean I have a favorable opinion of all billionaires but I will credit where it’s due.
comment in response to
post
Which is great and I haven’t heard about that. But this isn’t really a competition to see who does more. This is about who does anything at all. Choosing people over profits is more than any other billionaire has done and I think that’s worth noting and giving credit for.
comment in response to

Most people are billionaires from exploitation. He simply sold his own company at the best time and now invests in a bunch of companies and that’s residual income.
Anyways this conversation has gotten old and ate up too much of my morning. Peace.

Clearly you don’t know about his low price medication company that is not only transparent about the costs but also in many cases has lower prices than insurance on prescriptions. A big help to the uninsured or underinsured. Idc if someone’s a billionaire from investing in companies.

I’ve listened to his position on some things. He’s got a lot of great ideas.

Truly don’t know. Nobody really does. We currently have speculation and have to see

Weird take considering Mark has no position or influence with the current government and is doing more for low income people than any billionaire has with his pharmaceutical endeavor. I’m also not on “his” team. I simply understand his point

As possible and work on building a resistance with substance. We are on the same team. Truly.

Listen this is all bad and a huge challenge for us to navigate. Right now we have to figure out best course of action but in the meantime we have to do damage control. It’s not about playing nice or wanting to appease fascists. It’s about doing what we can in the immediate to protect as much

ICE and the NIH are not the same nor have remotely the same function.
comment in response to

Recognizing something doesn’t mean it’s an endorsement of it. And I don’t endorse it. And I also don’t agree with removing funding from the NIH. I know plenty of people affected by it and the PhD programs will be non existent.
comment in response to

You don’t have to know politics to recognize things being ran like a business, which he knows plenty about.
comment in response to
post
They don’t require your legitimizing lol. Trump did that already.
comment in response to
post
No, he is acknowledging the reality of their existence and that if we don’t find a way to mitigate the damage, there will be nothing left to defend. They have been given presidential authority. Saying “no fuck you” is not going to stop it.
comment in response to

People are making a lot of assumptions. He knows Trump is shit for business. I’ve heard him speak on it on podcasts. There’s a lot of missing context on who mark is that you’re missing and that’s available if you know where to look. Everyone with a couple neurons know DOGE is bullshit.

Then nothing changes. And everyone else will be blamed but surely it wasn’t your fault.

There needs to be 2 branches of action instead of just one.
I am FULLY in support of resistance. But resistance is a war of attrition and it requires STRATEGY and that means also you have to play in the sandbox before you completely overturn it.
comment in response to

Really? Figuring out how to fight back while we minimize the damage instead of just complaining on social media makes your point? You’re an idiot.
comment in response to

Here I will since you won’t.

Explain drawing your hard line to me and who will enforce it in an elected capacity when he owns 3 branches of government. I’m curious.

Everyone with at least an 8th grade education knows how the government is supposed to work and then there is how it’s been perverted into working for YEARS now. The corruption is down into the roots.
comment in response to

Complaining on app isn’t resistance.
comment in response to
post
Massive resistance to be certain but there is a difference between digging your heels in like a child and then there’s doing something about it. Whining that something shouldn’t be happening isn’t constructive and it’s all we will see for the next however many years.
comment in response to
post
No one has said that.
comment in response to
post
And figuring out how to navigate this bullshit while we SIMULTANEOUSLY come up with a constructive recourse. It’s the first week and it’s a dumpster fire. Whining isn’t going to solve shit and is more permissive than trying to mitigate the damage in the interim.
comment in response to
post
Whining online for years ad nauseum is why shit got so fucking bad. Whining about DOGE existing and what they are doing isn’t going to work and simply will not constructively navigate the reality for what it is. The next however many years will be finding a way to do damage control

Who said they were overfunded? No me. EVERY business, every organization inevitably ends up with redundant roles, it just simply ends up that way with job creation. Everyone is so in their feelings they are throwing their brains out the window.
comment in response to
post
The only one who has assigned anything here is you. I’m aware they are bullshit and so is he. He is stating they are simply not going away so this is how you can minimize the damage.
comment in response to

This is why democrats have consistently lost the culture war and now the whole fucking country. Getting high on their own supply while everything goes into the fuckin garbage and now we are left with this orange piece of shit who’s going to destroy every domino the democrats set up for him.

Who tf cares? Why does something over all good require altruism to be the motivator or it’s not good at all? That’s so short sighted. He’s saving a TON of money for low income people on their medication and even breaks down the cost per pill so they see how much they are being fucked by pharma
comment in response to

Why are people bad at reading comprehension on here? At what point is he endorsing what Trump is doing? He’s simply calling it like it is. It doesn’t mean he approves. He’s stated as much.

Everyone on here screeching THE USA ISNT A COMPANY REEE
Yes we know. But knowing what it isn’t, isn’t changing how it’s being managed and the sooner people recognize seeing things for what they are and not what they think they should be, we might actually be able to do something about it.
