Not to defend the media’s cowardice in any way but I think this helps indicate how the threshold for speaking the truth is being raised in their corporate, risk-averse context

I think this has to be understood in the context of a vindictive administration eager to broaden libel law and a Supreme Court that is extremely interested in overturning NYT v Sullivan if given the opportunity. I think from MAGA perspective this would be the perfect case to break the media’s back

It’s the most extensive list I’ve seen (even includes a lot of ad-hoc ZRG1 fellowship sections), but it doesn’t include all of them. For example, it doesn’t include the MID-B section that reviewed my K99 last year (and I was hoping would review my resubmission soon! 😭)

I think this bill is a more existential threat, esp. since this tax is completely within Congress’ authority to enact (unlike a legally questionable revoking of tax exempt status).
Still unclear why they think dealing with fascists will actually help anything…

interesting question! on the surface yes but functionally no, the two chlamy basal bodies differ in ontogenetic age. The result is a differential response in the two cilia (to calcium) which underlies phototactic turning, e.g. see this figure here from doi.org/10.1042/EBC2...,

Have done, and also contact governors and state legislators since indirects undergird University operating budgets, when they are taken away, state legislatures will be pressured by university budget managers to allocate more funds. Many states are working on their budgets right now.
