An addendum to my prediction thread: besides the prison-labor system they intend to build, enforced by the police state, as used as constant threat to stay in line, the intention is to destroy much of the government:

By some combination of age/disposition of users, main feed being driven by mostly positive engagement instead of ragebait/anger, and a seemingly more egalitarian promotion of users, tiktok was likely the best social media for any left wing position.

Doubt there is any information showing TikTok as a national security threat, I think the spooks went to Congress and showed off a fraction of what they collect/what they’ve been able to do to people on FB/twitter/etc and pulled the classic “if we are doing this imagine what the commies are doing!”

I think it will always be funny to me that one of the most influential rap albums of the 90s ends with a line listing off the lucky charms marshmallows.

There was (is) an effort to create a Democratic equivalent to January 6/“Stop the steal”. It seems to have all the same style of world building (reading into vague politician statements, drawing in obscure/unrelated judicial or criminal proceedings, wild speculation presented as certain/likely)

I sometimes think about how amazing it must have felt, being Bill Watterson, and saying no to every request and proposal to expand the Calvin & Hobbes IP to tv, movies, merch, you-name-it. To be in that position, in need of nothing more, and to just say no thanks.
