the funniest possible thing that could take down this administration would, after all, be an email scandal

It’s amazing to me how this guy started out as a champion of our possible Green future and has become a caricature of a Bond villain.

Near future: Blue states will need to impound federal taxes, secure our national guards, create independent economic blue zones and enact & enforce our laws without regard to the Supreme Court (defy the Supremacy Clause). More independence & autonomy from the fascist, autocratic Federal Government.

CPAC attendees - if you don't walk out of a conference where the speakers are tossing out Nazi salutes, then you're choosing to attend a Nazi conference.

By adopting this name, the Trump administration’s modern-day “Operation Whirlwind” appears to signal a similar intent: to assert control, suppress dissent, and eliminate opposition at any cost.

One immediate action from Senate democrats is to block any up/down voice vote and hold hearings for each and every one of the new General/Admiral confirmations. The Republicans can win the votes, but the process to vote on each of these nominations will take time. Grind them down!

Which sets them up for a problem in season 4. How the fuck are the producers going to find an even bigger, bigger guy? Andre the Giant would have been next in line.

Don’t back down. Don’t surrender space. Resist at every step. Bullies are cowards.

Exactly what I thought when the even bigger guy showed up as a guard.

How about “This is fucking illegal and we won’t stand for it.” There’s a time for profanity. This is that time.

I agree that Meta is a cesspit. But going after S. 230 is like burning down your house to put out a fire on your stove. Section 230 is a good law. It makes the best parts of the internet possible. Without it we would enter a hellscape of endless liability for speech.

Not at all. The big tech players can afford the lawyers and infrastructure. Section 230 protects all of us equally.

They have been publicy announcing, admitting to, and memorializing their crimes for a few years now. Without consequence.

I think it’s fine here, but I’m really sick of judges and politicians going out of their way to find people with “conservative credentials” in a attempt to placate the right, who don’t give two shits about credentials anyway.

If you are at an event where someone on stage gives a Hitler salute and that person is not dragged off by security and kicked out, you are at a Nazi rally.

And here’s where they’re succeeding. So much of our legal system is based on norms where you’re expected to tell the truth based on consequences of perjury. But if the legal system is stuck between norms and actual ideological capture, we’ve got fuck all to fall back on.

Love how the Executive branch is just trashing the government and making it nonfunctional while the other two are just, nope, nope gotta follow the rules we used to have, even if the majority of regular people are just fucked over.

Five years ago, I didn't know much about him, but if you asked me what my perception of the prevailing view of him was, I'd have said "genius inventor and tech billionaire phenom." I'm legitimately impressed by the skills of whoever polished that turd to shine that bright.

Yes. They have no idea what irony is or what they’re doing. We’re going to have another pandemic and it’s because the hey fired someone who job is to ensure the lab stays clean. . .

At the moment Pritzker is the only big state Democratic governor operating on the basis of a consistent fuck-no-ist ideology.

A call for impeachment can always happen, and then force the sycophantic cowards to go on record as voting against it rather than letting nothing happen without outcry
