There’s not a word in this story about the corrupt nature of this dismissal. A narrative tic worth noting: When Biden pardoned Hunter, lots of ppl erupted saying “this empowers Trump to do the same.” But when Trump says he is above the law, no one replies “this will empower a future Dem to think the same.” And not bc “there won’t be one.” It’s deeper than that.

This is a really good and insightful thread, and also I don't believe that even 5% of the people liking and retweeting it are actually involved in Democratic Party politics. That is, a huge part of why this stuff is the case is that even engaged Dem voters see the party as "they."
