I love the juxtaposition between heritage craft and contemporary design. Life is always better with balance 👌

😂 the perfect gif!
Thank you ☺️ sometimes messing around makes the best things.

Have you got pictures of that you could share? Id love to see the result.
I have a few others that could definitely do with at least one more round. I think those layers add such interest. I mean when you look at traditional Wedgwood lustre work, that took at least 7 rounds of firing.

Broken Celadon - very melty so I’m hoping I’ve left it far enough up! Haha thank you 🙏 fingers crossed 🤞

Ahhh could be duff seeds? I’d blame the seeds ;)

Ooo corriander (cilantro) does not do well here! Lavender 😍 I love it.
Sounds like you’re going to have a very lush summer of produce!

Try planting some onions near the carrots as they mask the smell from carrot fly. Also touch them as little as possible as that releases the smell and attracts the fly. Sometimes it’s better to sew individually in cardboard loo rolls and transplant into the garden so you don’t need to touch.

Experimenting is always the most fun part!

It’s traditional firings, so digging a hole in the ground (I used an oil barrel as it was winter and the ground was far too hard) and using sawdust to cushion the pieces and wood to fire. I tie banana skins and teabags of oxides onto the pieces and add salt towards the end.

It is so rewarding! What have you grown? I did sage from seed and they are doing great now which is lovely. Plus I thought I’d killed one as I forgot to water it and it was completely brown and dead. And it’s spring up again! I like a bit of resilience

Ooo potters dream! We have one gas kiln that we have to book in for reduction. I like to pit fire in my garden though I have no idea what I’m doing haha. But the results are lovely!

Ooo thank you. I will try that and see if I can get a success! To be honest houseplants and I have a very tumultuous relationship. If they refuse to thrive I sometimes watch them die so I feel
Less guilty about getting rid. My friend comes and rescues them from my house haha.

Oh that is so lucky! My uni doesn’t do any outdoor firings anymore. Budget cuts and new fire doors apparently.
It’s too good a name not to put it to use! I think the world needs more crooked pots in an over stylised world

You do better than me. All my succulents die slowly and taunt me.
My mother in law swears by damp kitchen roll and then ziplock bag with the air squashed out of it.

No, I haven’t tried raku though I’d love to! No where seems to teach it except private courses and even then you aren’t allowed to do the actual fun part. It’s a bronze Matt glaze I got for free & Spearmint on the rim.
Oh we just call that organic! Haha. Crooked potter is an awesome name.

She smells exceptional. Best smelling rose in the garden. It’s called Ferdinand Prichard and it does well in shade. :)

Yes good plan! We are moving to Norway and I can’t take any of my plants, I’m so upset 😭 so I’m going to take cuttings of everything and take them over before we move to my mother in law to start growing for me for the full scale plant immigration haha.

Oh no! They are usually resilient but I have found they take their sweet time so don’t give up! I love roses too <3

She is! And the smell is so delicate. We have 2 whole roses this year 😅

Ooo that’s lovely. I have a few commercial though it’s easier to mix them myself as we have the supplies at school. So it’s a lot cheaper!
I do like that colour though 😍

Oooo yes I can just feel the texture just by looking!
It’s the balance with texture isn’t it? As you don’t want it to eclipse it.
I think I’m feeling bold matte colours. So perhaps a stain wash or underglaze. 🧐

I think I’m with you on that too.
I will definitely post once glazed… and once I come up the a plan for glaze haha.

Yes, I use glaze catchers (stoneware tile) for things I am not sure about so it only stuck to that. One stuck real bad so now I have to grind that into the shape of the pot and pretend it was totally on purpose.
