I'll stop clowning now. There's actually a fairly good breakdown at the end of this video short, of the timeline when companies went from hoping to show unambiguously gay romance on screen (with kissing, etc), followed by the lasting crackdown which endured since then.

Listen, it's motivating for me too. I'm not going to let fascism crush me or shorten my life if there's the remotest chance of surviving to see the censorship lifted, then getting to watch Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji smooching b/w 7-8 times! (To be fair it's probably 1 kiss, but they shot 7-8 takes 🤣)

The entire discussion on #r4today has been about the perpetrator’s ethnicity.
Not much at all about the victims, the security failures, anything that is meaningful or might help keep us safe.
This is horrifying. Our debate about crime MUST NOT be allowed to be about ethnicity #r4today

I don’t have to fear being attacked now that we know the a white British person committed some heinous act.
But Muslims, brown & black people, immigrants & asylum seekers would have real cause to fear for their safety if the Liverpool guy had been nonwhite.
What does that say about us?
