Using Translate, the Greek word for liars is “pséftes”, so pseftocracy?

I’d prefer this. I get the discipline and community with military training, but that also came with the CCC (+ other efforts), and people learned skills and provided something to the country. Then a large portion went on to serve in WWII. There’s a stronger sense of community in seeing results.

In 3 years in the Senate, 2 bills that Obama introduced became law. In 6 years in the House, none of the bills AOC introduced have become law. Even just counting bills he introduced, he introduced about 2x. No, they weren’t high profile laws, but they were more than naming post offices.

“Detroit” style is what my Italian family from the suburbs south of Chicago made at home. Chicago thin crust tavern cut is what we ordered in. I never even saw the casserole style when I lived in the Chicago area. I like both the Detroit and Chicago thin crust above all others.

The changes in Red Delicious were long before GM existed. They have been selected over decades (at least since the 70s) for color, size, and as you point out, longevity. They lost flavor along the way.

I’m in Oregon. You can get heirloom Red Delicious here at farmer’s markets on occasion. They are much smaller and not as bright a red as the modern variety. They are crisp and not mealy at all. They have a decent, if mild flavor. Not a bad apple, but not as good as many modern varieties.

‘President Bukele said, "I hope you're not suggesting that I smuggle a terrorist into the United States. How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States?"’ It is well established that Garcia is not a terrorist, and returning someone requested by the United States would not be smuggling.

I can’t hold this against them. If you had w/o work with Marco, you’d be doing everything you could to get rid of him also.

I know this is going to happen, but no one will get help from it. The tariffs are so egregious that countries will retaliate, and they will not be taking the same bribes.

Unfortunately, they probably have to, to afford the next stock purchase, especially the small local computer parts dealers. If it were like a 5% increase they could probably absorb it, but this is a killer.

If they decide he can run as VP, then become President, maybe Obama should do the same. Their heads would explode. (No, I’m not serious about Obama running. I am serious about their heads)

This is what makes due process so important: it’s for everyone! Any time we have corrupt lawyers, prosecutors, cops, politicians, or judges, every person involved in any sort of legal proceeding is harmed.
comment in response to post
It’s also for victims of crime. Their due process is that the government properly investigates, arrests, charges, tries, and if convicted, punishes criminals. Every time a group like the Innocence Project frees a person denied this, the government denied the victim also. 1/2

It provided a snippet of code that contained a function that would have worked, if only the communication module we were using actually implemented it. It gave me what I wanted, even though what I wanted didn’t exist. After my team heard this, they have reported multiple instances of the same. 2/2

This is a great thread that really hits home for me. We’ve been recently told to use Copilot to help with development at work. Ran into an issue that looked likely to be environmental, not code. I asked Copilot how to limit network communication to a specific protocol that I knew we use. 1/2

This is fucking bullshit. 1. There’s plenty of footage of the reporter out there 2. If not him, then who was he mocking? Here’s the thing about assholes that mock people: they are ALWAYS terrible imitations. It’s part of the mocking. And you’re the type of asshole that defends him.

This was the 2022 revision, a large black book. I couldn’t help but think it might be suitable for role playing in an Expanse setting.

The cities are on some sort of overlay that’s positioned too far south. If you shift everything north it’s relatively close.
