Fond of things that make noise melodically, people/instruments/machines. Also fond of diminutive cars, give me 110 hp, manual transmission and 2200 lbs on the scale.

Yes, that’s certainly the traditional approach to winning the race.

Definitely got the good spot.

It’s also where they can suddenly move a broadcast that is running over on time so they don’t delay the start of their ‘major’ sports broadcast.

More along the lines of ESPN2.

You left out “endless.”

Ram’s got that high perch overlook going on, looking pretty casual. Surveying the domain. Great photos.

It’s the small details that stand out after the initial moments. The visor/dome light, much like the hatch flip-down, seems the sort of bits done by a design team that not only loves what they do and is proud of their work, but also is trying to squeeze every ounce from whatever the budget allowed.

The mating to the dome light is an exceedingly good implementation.

I must fully support this decision.

This is definitely one odd-ball image.

Yeah, that’ll do it. More importantly, was it tasty?

I glad someone gets to make lemonade.

I’m good with the spilled French fries look.

He is indeed. He is always in the mix and doesn’t take himself out with bad decisions.

He has enough attitude to not go into the season intimidated, interesting to see how long that last. I could easily see four drivers at the front depending on if someone has a car that’s really good everywhere and runs away.

Can’t watch that reveal show without realizing the level of ‘entertainment’ F1 has become.
It was a little hard to take at moments but I’m a completely old fart trying not to yell at anyone cutting across the yard.

No disrespect intended,
Sainz will be top 10 in the drivers standings at the end of year.
Lewis unforced error wrecks- 2.
Max will not win a fifth. The car won’t be junk.
It will be very close indeed.
Oscar will find a way.

If you do find yourself in St Pete the greatest Salvador Dali museum in the world is just around the corner. It’s really, really worth a visit. One thing to see a litho of a great painting, it’s quite different when it’s a 14 foot high canvas hanging on the wall. Many other items not paintings.

Damn if I wouldn’t love to see the red/white eighties color scheme once in a blue moon.
comment in response to

Yessir, that’s one nearly unworkable font to use for numbers. McLaren is a team I have rooted for since the eighties. Up or down in their racing fortunes I’m still here for them.

If we’re talking F1 cars with smoke stacks on the side pods, yeah, they were pretty damn ghastly.

The front wings on those kits looked like something the Wright Brothers tested during airplane development. Did anyone doubt there would be mountains of shards before the first pit stop?

It’s what they’ve achieved though.
comment in response to

So completely agree.
Is there any legit reason they couldn’t adopt a Halo approach? It’s a much less offensive solution, I can at least see a driver and no, screen mounted interior shot of driver is not a suitable alternative.
comment in response to

Yep, let’s ignore science, we know what we’re doing.
Amazing when folks listen to morons as opposed to doing a nickels worth of reading on why the pasteurization process was invented to begin with.

Very easy team to root for.

Same thoughts along the line of they having never reclaimed what was lost in the split. CART was the high water mark for US based open-wheeled racing.
F1 and Sports Car racing are my strawberry shortcake. That’s not likely to change regardless of Jos Verstappen.

I try anew each year but find myself wandering once the Indy 500 has passed. I am interested to see if the Fox broadcast can bring some life to the series. Otherwise they might be down to waving a dead chicken over it for help.

No sir. You still get that pigs ass of an Aeroscreen.

I look at this photo and imagine the car with a Halo type solution instead of the wart that is the Aeroscreen.

Dude you have no idea just how squarely you have hit that particular nail. When he got that 3rd for McLaren five(?) years ago I was literally in tears. True McLaren fans knew the day was coming, just seemed a long ways away at that time. Then Carlos’ podium happened. Best teammate ever. + up team.

Take away the aero and give them as much power as they want. If a driver doesn’t have talent it’ll scare them enough they never get back in a car. Truly skilled drivers will know exactly how to handle the power. Dillon and Stenhouse gonna need a new job.

They would look so much better as a streak going past at a rapid pace.

Give me one more day of testing instead. This is pure hypefest, though I’m not opposed to a hypefest for those that enjoy such.

I got it! We just add the bus stop (LeMans) chicane into the race.
