I'll definitely say they've been useful to me w.r.t. coding. The caveat is when they suck it's insidious. The mental effort of checking every detail is, often, more effort than doing it myself. I still think it's useful, but only if I think upfront it has a high chance of succeeding at the task.

Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

had a great (but scary) experience of my phone busting while driving to meet a friend at a place I had been to only once. I fucking used the sun. I knew it was west of me and I just followed the sun until the streets looked familiar... It still feels insane.

it changes the mood when you compose with a different root or home in mind. the phrygian mode of any major key is, effectively, its relative minor key. and we all know the example of how major keys make us feel happy and minor keys make us feel sad.

my understanding from taking music theory like ten years ago is: - a key is a (suggested but usually broken) ruleset to generate notes - a scale is a group of notes generated this way - modes are just which note in the scale you choose as your "root" which is a whole other thing

screen goes black when you try to screenshare on most streaming platforms so if you try to use a projector to watch something without a cd or "very legal" and notoriously reliable digital downloads youre screwed
