sfx has often been smth ive overlooked in music but honestly you can add anything to your music if it fits. youtube and freesound.org are your friends, dont be afraid to mess around and add weird shit to ur tunes bc its fun and being a producer is fun and should be fun

in terms of theming though, it can be really really fun to lean into cliche sound effects like crowd noises or car noises if a song genuinely lends itself towards that. i have a WIP that does just that and honestly the sound effects ive added have really completed the atmosphere.

its not always about the best mix or the most impressive most technical tune that Blows people away. you can make a good song by whatever means you find most fun! for me i enjoy making silly danceable tunes that often steer towards melodicness rather than technicality.

i genuinely think many people can benefit from taking themselves less seriously as an artist, leaning into cliches, being cheesy etc. bc its genuinely *fun* to. if your song lends itself to a specific theme or idea when you listen to it, lean into that!!! stylize your music!!!
