GenX punker trans woman in the PNW FTW. May contain nuts. Likely a synth. Antifascist AF. I am 3 stoned & angry opossums in a trench coat. Kind, not nice. Queen of hot takes for high stakes. Nascent derby chick. Trans/SW/Workers’ rights are human rights.

Correct. The best solution is sterile saline solution. Most bottles you can get OTC have an eyecup either included or built into the bottle. I only mention rinsing afterwards for those who believe the internet over experience. Whatever you use, the point is to remove the oils from the spray.

Oh and for the love of all the little bunnies and all their little knives, use pasteurized milk. Using raw milk in this way is an almost guaranteed method of contracting pinkeye, salmonella, or worse.

As a former military medic, milk is often a bad idea for treating tear gas / CS gas exposure to the eyes; it can leave a film of its own and provide a wonderful bed for bacteria to flourish. If you must use milk, always rinse immediately after with saline solution or water.

pineapple not only belongs on pizza, it was deposed from its rightful place amongst the Topping Pantheon by scurrilous lesser toppings like spinach or artichoke in full covert cooperation with the Pepperoni Mafia.

We need representatives and senators who are willing, nay eager to break kayfabe, risk being painted as the heel, and actually speak truth not only to power but to the people, for the people ARE the power. I support what you try to do, but I fear we need a lot more before we can move past this.

The United States government has not truly represented its people in decades, Madame Representative. People bitch & moan about 'radical this' and 'violent that' but it's all theater meant to keep the people distracted and conflicted so we never unite against them. This must end before we do.

We saw this with David Hogg recently. You've seen it yourself in how you've effectively been shunned from committee positions within your own party. We saw it years ago when Bernie got punted, despite a good shot at the Presidency. They are not your friends, and they are most certainly not mine.

The whole point of him, and others like him, even (and perhaps especially) within the Democratic party is to maintain the status quo so that the corporate donors and shareholders and billionaires can continue to profit off the backs of the American people without constraint.

Tell those close to you how you feel about them. Hug them, if you can. You might not have many more opportunities to do so. If you can fight, fight. If you can support, then support. If all you can do is watch, then watch, and help ensure that humanity does not repeat this mistake again. Peace out

And oh boy has it. What hasn't returned is my ability to switch it off without the aid of intoxicants. For the last month, my Spidey-Sense has been ringing a five-alarm fire emergency bell. I can't ignore it any longer. I have the feeling some Very Bad Shit is going to spark off this weekend.

I've been able to do this since I was a kid, right up until I was traumatized by an ex who was a masterful reality-warper when it came to gaslighting and manipulation. After her, my head was too full of static to be able to process any of it. After therapy & transitioning, that ability has returned

(I also think it is often missed or deliberately ignored in the history of Gilbert Baker's Rainbow Flag that it was Harvey Milk who pushed him to create a symbol of unity, community, and hope. Milk got to see it fly in a Pride March one time before he was killed in a hate crime.)

There was a riot after Harvey Milk was murdered and the police responded poorly (The White Night Riot), and I think we need to rekindle that energy. I don't like violence or riots, but it's the natural response of the unseen and unheard when our lives are shown to be disposable.

Yeah, I wish that people would stop choosing ignorance over family. No more passively accepting! When you are pushed into a corner with no escape possible, the only way out is to fight!
comment in response to post
But that will never happen. People just think the word "fight" means slipping a note into fascism's suggestion box or color coordinating. Most people want us dead and most of us are barely surviving if at all. For fighting to be an option we'd need enough people willing and able. Too few care.

I'd rather die than "reconcile" with the monsters mudering my kin. I've lost the hope of ever changing at this point but if by some bizzare turn I ever had the power to none of them would breathe again.

But hey, guess I got that "Barbarian" tag for a reason.

Fuck that. Burn shit. Destroy the GOP root and branch. Destroy the oligarchy propping them up root and branch. Hang your local fucking congress-critters. They want a war? Let's give them one, because I'm sick of it all, but I'm even more sick of taking it.

The majority of my mom's side of the family doesn't talk to me, and after the events of the last 24, I doubt the rest ever will again either. I have read more queer, gay, and trans obits in the last month than I have in the last five years. But we're supposed to "rise above" and reconcile w/them.
comment in response to post
Personally, I'm of the opinion that it is long past time to skip "another Stonewall" and start burning shit. I live in a world not of my own making, where people have been conned into hating me for existing, and I can't even protect people I love or visit my father, nor my mother's grave.

I have never, ever, in my entire five decades of life, been more ashamed of where I come from than I am today. I am officially denouncing and disowning you, Texas, until you get your shit together and forcibly remove these fucking cattle rustlers and snake-oil salesmen.

And for those who want to tut-tut and wag their fingers at me: FUCK. YOU. You're part of the problem. A policy of appeasement fosters an environment of conquest.

These fuckers are after everyone not them. They can't be reasoned with. They can't be bargained with. They don't feel remorse, or pity, or guilt, and they absolutely will not stop. EVER. Until we are DEAD. If we don't hit the streets soon, it will happen sometime this year or next. Mark my words.

If you are part of it, and you say nothing, you are just as fucking guilty, and you will suffer just as heavily. Worse, even, because of your cowardice. Silence is not just consent. It is approval. It is complicity with this 'phobic bullshit the aforementioned junta putas have fostered in TX.

I will round them up, I will let them die slowly on rotisserie spits, then carve their bones into small flutes for the next ten generations of children to play with. This is a dream that I have. I no longer care that "some of them" "aren't like that." No. Fuck you.

It's by design; most of the major media outlets are owned by conservatives now, either directly or indirectly. The Dems are controlled opposition, and have been since at *least* Reagan.

Don’t even start. You knew he cheated. You fucking KNEW he cheated, and you did nothing, and now here we are. But not to worry, you’ll be fine with all your shamefully large stacks of cash. Meanwhile me & mine are waiting to hear the Gestapo’s boots at the fucking door. You should be ashamed.
