Native American Rights Fund is using treaty obligations to sue the Trump admin over cuts to the Department of Education. Under the U.S. constitution, treaties are the supreme law of the land and in many, the federal government promised tribes it would provide their citizens with an education.

Future iteration of a screen time warning that I need

Reminder: the First Amendment protects everyone who resides in our country. It doesn't matter if you have a green card or a visa or if you're undocumented. The Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed that any person residing in the United States, regardless of status, is entitled to 1A protections.

Billionaires lately are like “won’t it be great when it’s just us and our money and you’re all dead?” And then they’re like “why don’t people like me?”

What an amazing string of coincidences that all these Republican officials keep getting exposed as pedophiles. What are the odds?!

Word didn’t save my footnotes. I’m so devastated. I’d been clicking the save button. The only thing I can think of is that is was giving me problems writing in or copy/pasting my citations (I was trying to figure out what was going on). This is complete bs.

Pretty sure I’ll be completely moving my room around soon, I can feel it. I’m not sure if anyone else feels like this, but I sleep better with my bed against the wall & it also feels easier to clean my room if it’s not separated by a bed in the middle of it.

In case you ever feel like you’re bad at your job, this girl didn’t know how to introduce evidence into the record.

So confused by people who say the Columbia admin was in an impossible position: they had a choice between A) fighting back and maybe winning Or B) giving in on everything and not even getting the funding back (B) sure seems like a real fucking dipshit option

it lives

This year, especially, I have been getting a HUGE influx of spam calls. It’s ridiculous. Right now I’m using spam killer, but does anyone have a better option? How do I find out where my number is posted for all this nonsense?

I will say, I’m really glad I started almost exclusively watching foreign livestreams. I feel like I better understand current events & I get to work my French and even a little German (still A1).

Note to headline writers: stop saying “capitulate” and “cave” about Columbia administrators—try “collaborate” or “conspire” instead. “Cuckold” if you’re nasty.

Does anyone have any advice for buying compression wear? Especially if I’m planning on wearing it over the summer? Any brands or fabrics you’d recommend? Also, I feel like it’s something it’s accidentally buy too tight. I’m buying it for loose skin.

Exclusive: Tesla trade-ins on pace for a record high amid Musk backlash, data shows reut.rs/4ikL5wv

Our whole government is just one big "men's rights" subreddit now

Virtually every leading First Amendment scholar in the country--conservative and liberal--has joined this statement warning that the Trump administration's threats to Columbia University risk deterring and suppressing constitutionally protected speech.

Gov. Walz: If you need a little boost during the day, check out Tesla stock.

Letter signed by members of the Columbia History Department urging resistance to the Trump Administration's efforts to dictate university policy. "Should this control be realized, here or elsewhere, it would make any real historical scholarship, teaching, and intellectual community impossible."

"Walz says now he should have been doing events all through last fall. He says he offered, but was told no, and in his bewildered daze, he decided to be a team player." Need to seriously start asking if these dem consultants are actively on the take, no other way to explain such uselessness

New, from @pamherd.bsky.social at Can We Still Govern: NIH grants are being screened for forbidden words. Breakthrough techniques (like mRNA) are now off the table. The only dangerous immigrant in the USA is Elon Musk.

Ugh. I worked afternoons today, feeling like absolute crap, having to deal with a power outrage, come home tonight (6 hours later) & I’m having an internet outage now. I just usually put my tv on a timer & go to sleep to something, so I’m super sad.

I think physicians as a group are credulous and uncritical about technology. Medical education and training does not help, either. When this AI hype first started, the worst kinds of posts I saw were from doctors. And this 👇 kind of behavior should have consequences.

It’s that point in the semester where I never feel well & it’s exacerbated by the authoritarian government I’m living in.

A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred. immigrantjustice.org/sites/defaul...

NEW: “DOGE has broken into our building.” -- Acting President and CEO of the United States Institute of Peace George Moose

Good Lord. Latest from US Institute of Peace:

I actually wish I would be allotted more time for the academic presentation I’m going to for my capstone paper, but I’m also glad I don’t. I really don’t need to go down a new rabbit hole this semester.

Last fall I found out that none of my students were aware of the birther conspiracy, including what it was and that Trump played a prominent role.

Know this rhetoric is a daily occurrence now but christ “incompatible migrants” is phrasing indistinguishable from the most vile neo-nazi screeds & is the type of dehumanizing language that can & will lead to the unthinkable

Doctors at Seminole Memorial Hospital, in Gaines County, noticed a sudden and ominous drop in the number of measles patients coming in, with those showing up being much sicker than before. They blame it on a quack doctor nearby who records anti-vax podcasts and gives out cod liver and vitamin A
