I'm ready to learn to sew clothes with a machine after hand sewing only for a few years. (Operating the machine & garment construction felt like two different skill sets to me, felt too much to do both at once.) Any tips from folks who do both? #sewist #sewing #handsewing

Best fit adjustment ever: cutting the armseye pretty deep into the back. Completely fixes how most tops felt too tight in my shoulders and I’d pull at the seams if I moved too much. #sewing #vintagepattern

HBO has declined to renew “Sesame Street” for new episodes. The series that’s been teaching generations of little kids since 1969 now has no studio. Please consider donating to Sesame Workshop to ensure the residents of 123 Sesame Street are still around to teach kids of all needs and backgrounds.

I’m weary with weight of eugenics people casually fling around. “Natural selection” this & “take them out of the gene pool” that, attributing belief systems & life circumstances to genetics. And under it all, the certainty that human kind is better off without some genetic material. The hubris.
