...and not only did contests but continued her usual performances that she was known for. She even got to meet Lisia and May! She even reunited with Ash before departing ways again. It's truly amazing how far Serena has come from the start.

The group says goodbye to her at the airport, but Serena gives a special goodbye to Ash, by kissing him! Looks like Serena finally got what she wanted for a long time. Once she landed in Hoenn, it was the last we thought we saw of Serena...until JN!

While she didn't win the title though, none of the hard work was a waste. As Ash said in the episode, nothing she ever does is a waste of time. Even Serena remembered his words in Journeys. Serena never gave up reaching her to this point, and she'll not stop now.

Because of the accident, Serena didn't win her first showcase, and later she made an important change to herself. She changed drastically of her own design, clothes and her hairstyle. This was indeed a new change for her, moving forward to continue showcases and never give up on the dream.

While Serena was used to Rhyhorn racing, it wasn't the dream she was looking for. To prove to her mother of her dream, Serena races her and she was more determined to win. This moment alone was a definition of how determined and independent Serena is herself.

...Pancham is, she becomes friends with it! She tries to battle it, but things get dire once TR attacks. However, Pancham was in defense for Serena. After the TR fight, Serena and Pancham battle again, and with success, Serena makes a new friend of hers. An important highlight to look back on.
