This makes absolutely no sense and I’m pretty sure you know it. Embarrassing for you.

My main asks for two decades plus have been: can we make people’s lives easier, can we please repair the public realm, can we stop inciting hate against immigrants and the poor and can we do less war. And the entire time, I have been told that these requests are frightful ideological derangement.

Actually, every time I read about "the cost of the benefits bill", all I can think of is all those parasite landlords and stingy employers getting billions of our tax money shovelled their way. Cap rents and increase the minimum wage if you want to cut the benefits bill. Leave disabled people alone.

(My account is very much not srs bznz all the time, in case anyone who recently followed me for disability advocacy wants to bail [I wish you only well if so])

And I’m all too aware that the fact I am ‘able’ to be moving out of home and in with my partner - heck, that I HAVE a partner - may well be used as against me upon reassessment, and I could be denied some/all of the PIP I currently get. I’ve been in this system for 16 years; I can all but feel it

Numerous things you should never ever do in a relationship, I am having to knowingly walk into, as I have no choice. Have no income of my own, have no way to get one, be entirely reliant on my partner, have my PIP claim tied to him, etc etc. Our governments choose this for sick & disabled people.

The last government had people dying in their cold flats surrounded by job applications. This government has pledged to do worse.
It is not an accident. People need to stop treating it like it's a mistake or misunderstanding.
They absolutely fucking hate disabled people, that's all.

My partner essentially has to be willing to adopt me. I’ll contribute nothing financially, & need his full monetary support. My mother has had to prop me up for 35 years, but I at least got ESA. Has any reasoning ever been offered for this pure fuckwittery? Forced perpetual child status?

Just as successive governments actively choose to deny us enough to survive on, nevermind the support we need, they also purposely decimate what little independence we have. They want us ever-aware that we’re a burden: to our families, partners, and especially to wonderful hard-working taxpayers.

This!! My friends know my situation & are politically engaged lefties, but when, eg, I tell them I’ll lose my ESA entirely when I move in with my partner, they’re stunned. We don’t get to talk about & challenge the myriad issues above survival because we’re (purposely?) kept fighting for just that

But our governments choose this for us. And it’s really just a bonus for them, along the lines of keeping working people busy barely making ends meet. They don’t want us to have the capacity to engage beyond ourselves. It’s extremely useful that we be kept scrabbling and scrapping. I HATE IT HERE!!!

I assume now that Liz Kendall and Labour have laid out what they're planning to do to kill a bunch of sick and disabled people that those "just wait and see" voices will condemn it, resign their Labour Party membership, petition their MPs to stand against it, protest it in some way?

Thankyou Carla. You’re fantastic, and one of very few people who give me hope ❤️

And I’m tired of talking about it. I’m tired of us all having to keep exposing our repeatedly ravaged wounds. I’m tired of nonstop fighting for less than the bare minimum. We never get to a point where we can fight for better, because they keep us at the level of survival. I’m tired of surviving.
