I looked up Quinn Martin Episode 10 and found this en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinn_M... Not everything with Pablo is Star Wars.

Anyone else first misread that as Episode X?

Agree completely. Seeing Hayden again was fantastic by itself. But both times he got some of the best material he has ever worked with in Star Wars. As satisfying it was for us fans, I can only imagine his reaction when he discovered what he was doing.

There is huge difference between what works on large and hi resolution movie and tv screens compared to comic book pages. It’s similar to argument of watching movies made for cinematic experience on your phone. Comic books are best when working towards strengths of medium, not others. 2/2

I also think it’s had negative effects on storytelling and art. Modern printing has lead to expectations of more characters and more details per page. But often hard to read or follow. Not everyone is George Perez. Same for too many colors that overpower the art on relatively small comic pages. 1/2

This one of the best simplifications in the whole adaptation. The layout with Ben doing his iconic pose mimicking Father as the bold center. But with quick highlights panels of the fight around him. It’s not every move but they are working with space limitations. Not cut like Lando rescuing Finn

Shared superhero universe are vastly overrated. Not just in other media but in the source comics too. Fun for a rare crossover once in a while. But too often is treated as more important than the individual appeals of each character alone.

Looking now as an adult I agree. But that was my introduction to the character. Specifically Rip Torn were his nephew won the lottery was first . I was 13 watching these alone in my room.

I remember watching this when it aired with my family. I was only 10! I do not think it scared me but first awareness that parents/adults can do horrible things to children.

I imagine that is what they are waiting for. Once the film has a final script and production start they can tease with a build up in other media. If they do it sooner they run risk of contradicting final film. Plus spoiling it too far in advance.

Sign of old age? I recognized this name but had to look up why I knew it. I turn 47 in exactly one month…

With understanding it’s not Hell or even. George has said Force Ghosts ascend to be equivalent of Greek Gods. So closer to Olympus.

A few years ago even before we saw Anakin on Ashoka I had an idea of a Story exploring the Star Wars afterlife. The world between worlds and beyond. Think Dante’s Inferno. Maybe staring Adam Driver…

Recently announced Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performing Batman 1989 with full score this September. First time I have seen any of those four movies on big screen since original releases.

Reminds me of huge frustration that no theater near me was showing these. Fathom’s locations are so random. Sometimes my local gets their events other times not.

Briefly lived in Las Vegas with my sister. Worked at grocery store as janitor/security. One day watching main entrance Penn Jillette walked in as customer.

I was not sure at first either. But It’s Anakin and Luke with same positions they have in the larger group of Jedi. Luke looks like he did in the Last Jedi but holding his green lightsaber.

I think they are there “in spirit” not as Force Ghosts. What’s the difference… They are all giving her psychic, emotional support. They are in Rey’s head. Hence just the voices in the movie. It’s fitting for comic book medium to see them. But they are not physically there - blue ghosts. My theory.

I agree. I wish this last issue had more pages. You do not see Lando rescue Finn and Jannah with the Millennium Falcon either. Just one panel of their silhouettes on the Star Destroyer. The writer and artist did an incredible job creating a companion to the film itself. Each complement the other.

The movie far exceeded all my expectations. I saw in theaters 9, 10, 11 times??? I list count!

I was at Star Wars 2019 Celebration in Chicago. I did not get into main hall but was fan since the teaser reveal. I already had tickets for signature and photo opt with Ian McDiarmid before anyone knew he was in movie. Next day he had mischievous smile “we do not what that means!”

I tease. I found you specifically because of your posts on the Rise of Skywalker comic . I LOVE that movie. Thrilled that this adaptation is finally happening. Only a year ago a comic book shop opened right near where I live. It will be my first stop after work tomorrow.

I think the idea is it’s a portable version of Edward Nygma’s Box.

Also it all fits together really well. New Star Wars stories have always lead us to recontextualize how we view the previous ones. Palpatine’s shadow is all over episodes 7 and 8. Also Rey is becoming a Skywalker from the moment we first saw her through mentors and choices. Not birth. Plus more! 😃

I need to watch 5 again. Ronin is one my all time favorite movies. Which I finally got around to buying on Blu Ray. The Paradox of having a full time job. I can buy all these movies but do not have time to watch. 25 or 30 years too much time and no money!

Honestly at this point many of the recent movies blur together in my memory. But that opera sequence stands out vividly. Not just for this series but as one of my favorite in anything.

Probably because it’s early in the morning and I am still waking up but the first thing my eyes went to was “king George Perez”. Seems fitting. You are comic book royalty as well Jerry!

When your Birthday is day after your Dad’s hard not to think of him especially now that he is gone. The man who drove me 8 hours (16 hours round trip) for the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL for over a decade.

I get a unique personal satisfaction - Superman opens weekend of my birthday( July 13) plus my late Father (July 12) who I know did not like Man of Steel at all. Never lived to see what followed but can imagine his reaction. But remembered Krypto and Superman being fun! Thanks James Gunn! 😊

I think I only bought one pack of these cards. This was one of the cards I got.

I was at the right age at the perfect time for all. Normally waiting in line for a roller coaster is boringest thing. Long before smart phones. But the closer you got and actually in the queue of the Ride was awesome. Danny Elfman music blaring. The graffiti and Gotham detailing. batsuit in case.

Than it got the stunt show following year. My 8th grade class went there for end of school year trip. I still have map of the whole park I bought.

If my memory is right Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL was first to get Batman: The Ride in 1992. Living in Milwaukee, WI that was a HUGE F$&@ing deal for a 14 year old in Middle School.

It’s fascinating to me how this got added to Three’s Company syndication package. Which never got a real ending just setup this thing.
comment in response to post
It’s crazy to me that John Ritter signed on to this. Normally after that long actor ready to move on. Three’s Company was based on British show Man About the House. Which had the equivalent sequel Robin’s Nest. But British shows have shorter runs and Three’s Company had 8 seasons.

Probably the first cartoon voice I recognized as performer in live action film or tv. Either her or Don Adams as Inspector Gadget.

I know there are some fans who are bothered by these fake media or brand names. Why not use the real ones? Be that reasoning why not call it New York instead of Gotham. It’s a heightened, distorted reflection of our reality. There other approaches but this is consistent with style of these movies.

I read a lot of comics but for first time I counted art pages in each issue. Not ads and did not count the opening scroll in each issue. Issue 1 had 30 pages and 2, 3,4 all had 20 pages. Guessing issue 5 at least 30. Wondering how longer before they print a sequel trilogy collection, all 9 episodes
comment in response to post
I have issue 4 and saw that add and somehow earlier date did not register. Thanks for pointing that out!

“are Americans aware that many other countries …” the answer to this is no, regardless of what comes after it.

My interpretation is this is more a mental projection in his head. They avoided coloring her like a Force Ghost. Still believe she was not actually dead until body disappears. More in a deep comatose like state.

As a janitor I think I speak for Cleaners everywhere that I support this as the new standard for all restaurants, break rooms everywhere. Just spray everything down and rinse and swipe it down the drain. Dishes, utensils??? Have industrial strength garbage disposals in every sink/table.

I remember seeing these at local costume shop. I bought rubber Penguin mask. I am sure they sold a separate monocle too. I think the cost and hassle of wearing all that at 14 I decided mask and top hat was enough.
