And if paternity-based religion is a ritualized form of nepotism, is there any model of religion you’d consider truly non-tribal? Or is all theology downstream of survival-based mythmaking?

Like, what about Hinduism, Buddhism, or even matriarchal or animist faiths? Are they equally complicit in this kind of tribalized power structure, or do some escape it?

Thanks for laying this out — I think I follow most of it, especially the critique of Abrahamic lineage obsession and Sky-Father archetypes. But I’m wondering: do you see this same dynamic in other religious systems too, or is this particular to the Abrahamic tradition?

Can you help me understand this? I get lost at the end. Are you saying that by centering humans, organized religion becomes complicit in Evil’s self-deception? Anthropocentrism is kind of baked into how we survive.
Our biology, psychology, even our language is tuned toward human needs.

Hmm idk maybe third term’s the charm, if we keep electing him he’ll be a good president eventually.

Are you able to move? I always move in protestation of max rent raises because I’m bitchy Scorpio and it gives me peace knowing they’ll have to deep clean the place, lose a month’s rent, and maybe remember tenants aren’t just passive income streams, but moving is expensive and weakens the body… 😩

Even though Andrew Tate is banned from TikTok, studies show that within two minutes of creating an account, a teen boy will encounter his content there.

He’s not wrong, but that should be an indictment of our education system and not an endorsement of AI replacing it.

I obviously forgot Fetterman was from Pennsylvania when I wrote that but you know what? I bet he does it for a lot of people.

What’s in the water that makes Pennsylvanian Democrats so hot and serious? Steel mill ghosts? Coal dust cheekbones?

Or: “The Moohan Prophecies,” as those of us who mingle in occult circles prefer to call it.

Yeah, terrorism does that to people. It’s not designed to start a dialogue, but to silence it. It may provoke conversation about itself, but its target is the deeper, more nuanced conversations taking place.

Have you ever thought: “if there’s a Star War, there’s definitely war crimes happening on both sides?” If so, “Andor” is the show for you!

Losing my grandma left one of the biggest voids in my life. I’ve since filled it up with all of her words of wisdom and the daily rituals she practiced. They’re never truly gone, they become part of us. But it’s such a huge responsibility and very lonely sometimes! Sending a big slothhug. 🦥

In Cascadia, we accept rot as part of nature. But it must nourish and never consume. In the forest the fallen feed the roots, but what we let fall apart must give way to something richer, deeper, more alive than before. Otherwise the forest chokes on its own past, and becomes a tinderbox.

We can say things here we’d never say anywhere else: I still haven’t read Earthsea. I have a literal physical copy on my shelf that has experienced seven moves but never the top of my reading list.
