I've been moved from hospital recovery to convolescence. This is day one of me learning to change my own dressings, manage my own assorted tubes, medications, and maintenance. Wow, is it a learning curve! I've already had something I can't control go wrong once, and it's only been a couple hours 😥

I did it!!! I'm now in recovery! The staff here is amazing beyond anything I could have expected ❤️ The anesthesiologist in particular was incredible! She managed to make it so I was completely out before the big scary spine poke!!! Now it's just recovery ahead, about 12 months worth minimum. Woo!

Pre-op has been started. A bit more tonight, and then another good bit early tomorrow, but tomorrow is the day! I'm doing what I can not to panic. Apparently, the operation could be any time tomorrow, so not easy. Fingers crossed it goes well and I don't say anything too embarrassing from the meds!😥

As of today, I am exactly one week from the biggest surgery of my life! I am definitely spooked! I'll have to face two of the absolute worst nightmares for needle phobia, an intensive 3 month recovery and life-long lifestyle changes. At the same time, it's still sinking in that this is happening!
