i can see unauth'd AI use in academic settings being made actually illegal (not just institution's responsibility, but the state's) within the next 5-10 years. schools will have to incorporate AI as part of their curriculum (effective "prompting" as computer literacy) but i think things are buckling

something that gets overlooked about skeuomorphic design is that the "aesthetic" was an actually a design affordance that gestured toward "clickable stuff that performs actions." flat interface trends stripped the accessibility out in the name of cleanliness. imo i'm very content for it to come back
