I can always rely on some random ass indie developers with a name like “Orccrotch studios” to make the most jaw-dropping story I’ve seen in a while

3) something with a similar build to it
For example, for an anthro animal, if they have humanoid anatomy, looking at people would be the best. If they have more animalistic features, then doing an anatomy study on similar animals (canids, felines) would be best.

2) Will get used to it
- Observing closely how real life things/ animals move can give you a better sense of how their anatomy works or how they would pose. If it’s a fictional animal/ creature, you can look at the animation in the show/ game they’re in, or if they’re not from one, you can observe

1)You’re welcome‼️
I love helping with this sort of stuff so here’s a few more quick tips:
-Don’t be afraid to look for references/ art inspiration, they can help with anatomy + your desired artstyle a bunch
- Don’t worry if lines are wobbly at first, the more you draw, the more your muscles/ hand

Ok so I tried to do an example with real media, saying how everything is made up of shapes but my example image ended up being tiny so here’s a low res example with the official umbreon art lol

I don’t do this much anymore, however, when I just started drawing, I did this to try and map out where everything is, drawing on top of my template to add detail/ features

(1) Ooh yay, ok. So, my first tip to try is something you’ve probably heard a million times, but it tends to work. Try imagine the drawing made up of different shapes, as it can make a good foundation when it comes to trying to visualise what you want to draw (I will do an example now)
