sucks that it's not working as it should, all power to you for taking on this task!

Thanks for hosting #TurnBasedThursday! Axe Ghost is a tiny, turn-based, Tetris-like weirdo of a game. Players say it's unlike anything out there.

related: about LLM energy use. both the original article as well as the follow-up addressing objections are worth reading.

not a big fan of the current capsule art, rendering is a bit indistinct and the scene is vague. though I'd be wary of using in-engine images too. ideal case imo: a new crisp illustration more closely reflecting the in-game elements

it's hard. what I run up against is: there a better chance of finding the Best way to complete any particular task if the freedom exists to re-evaluate and change anything about the project, without negotiation.

that's when you make some changes, and then wonder 'did I break anything?', and then 'i can't face manually going through all n flows for the 106th time to check' and then 'i'll make the computer do it!'

yeah. loading screen is also a good place for short tips. for serious problems you could even have systems that detect 'dark patterns' and display special info on game over if they're detected

I don't know of stats bearing this out. there are at least a few cases where the demo was critical in building interest for titles that were big successes

can you have a tutorial 'teach' a few patterns to help avoid the most common types of bad play?

this was helpful to see! jagriff made the spatial puzzle game Gentoo Rescue. store.steampowered.com/app/2830480/... and since *he* was stumped by the last tutorial task for a while it was clear that it was too challenging for fresh players

thanks for hosting #TurnBasedThursday!
Axe Ghost released on Steam last week. It's a challenging spatial battle against a horde of monsters and their boss. Like Tetris + Into the Breach + Match 3. Demo available:
