People will insist mixed breeds are healthier, because “that mutt we had when I was a kid never needed the vet & lived till 15”, etc…just because your parents didn’t take the dog to the vet, doesn’t mean he “didn’t need the vet”…again, empirical memory based “evidence”.

“Mixed breeds are healthier”?: prove it. NOT saying purebred’s better, but pedigrees allow research. I’ve had mixes: Mixes live longer? Empirical evidence. Blanket pronouncements seem like virtue signaling to me. I’ve got a rescue pure bred & don’t know her ancestry - lifespan? Health? Who knows?
