I still believe 2026 will happen, but I don’t have any faith it will be free and fair. I do think it is worth trying, though.

I think human liability is actually really important here, but if the person is going to be liable, they should also get to make an informed choice about it.

Part of the reason these end up empty is that leasing retail below "market rate" can trigger covenants and markdowns in debt clauses where empty units would not. I question if there aren't other policy levers that could be pulled here.

This is probably the right call. But when I hear super cheap retail space, I think funky weird shops and local cafes and stuff that otherwise can’t compete, and I gotta say… I do really like that world. I love niche passion spots and gallery spaces and hangouts where you can hang for hours cheaply…

I guess I'm like "let some people have their bad opinions" 😹 When we jump in with a million replies and quotes and w/e, we're actually directing more eyeballs to the ideas we are trying to discourage. I think people can reclaim that power. "We point the cameras."

That's fine! I think blocking people is totally chill, including being blocked myself. I wouldn't have seen any posts of people saying not to wave certain flags if people hadn't been quoting them into my feed. They were amplifying those messages, and I'm not sure it was on purpose.

Most of the time, problematic stuff I see in my feed is because someone was quoting or screencapping to dunk. I'm sure I'm guilty of it, too! But we can control the algorithms if we choose to engage with what we want more of. (And that includes blocking people like me, lol!) Let's OWN that power.

sometimes I like it when they show me garbage because that means they're wasting money showing it to me instead of someone else
