I go to a weekly board game meetup. Start getting a game of Arcs set up with two regulars, and a new guy comes in. Arcs goes to 4, so, sure. As we're teaching him the rules he asks something about if we mind if he uses ChatGPT. We all look puzzled. (1/x)

I'm not big on the specific mechanism mentioned by OP, but I do love making camp/rest/downtime a tactile part of play. In the OSR space, the implementation I like best is the camping procedures in Dolmenwood.

It always boggles my mind that I, a journalist, am expressly forbidden from trading stocks, but members of Congress, with vastly greater knowledge of market-moving news, are allowed to profit by front-running markets, and so may profit by in essence stealing from the public they represent.
