2 months ago, the economy was humming, unemployment was low, jobs were secure, & life went on.
Now, the economy is collapsing, our jobs are insecure, & life is screeching to a halt. All because GOP voters lost their minds over a trans kid playing sports & immigrants taking their peach picking jobs.

It makes as much sense as subjecting tariffs to countries exporting coffee and bananas so that we can bring coffee and banana growing jobs back to the US.

We can talk about the insanity of what Trump did all day long, but the real story continues to be how quickly his supporters and the compliant GOP congress people fall into line.

I don't remember my parents monitoring what I read or having much input. Most of my reading was dictated by school assignments.

Once upon a time, I'd do my best to defend Democratic leadership.
But now? I don't think so.
Trump and MAGA have been clear about their intentions for years and obviously, Dem strategy was to do nothing to prepare for it.

This is so true. I'd hoped that my primary doc could be my guide and advocate in navigating my many competing conditions. But most of the time, I have to do my own research and prod for possible courses of treatment.
Lots of mental anguish on a daily basis while searching for solutions.

Even if futile, it's critical for the Dems to act as a sane voice of resistance for affected people & this country. Otherwise, they will become even more irrelevant.
With that said, most efforts by the Dems will likely be buried & lost in the daily noise and outrageousness by Trump & crew.

Similar, perhaps even more, chaos will also ensue when the Christian Nationalists decide to fight over who has the best Jesus.

Yep, Trump speaks in sound bites at a level that can be understood by a 2nd grader.
Like it or not, it works in this country.

Most Trump fans are chalking the deferral of the tariffs with Mexico as a win. However, in 30 days, it will become a rallying cry once again. There's too much currency in the immigration issue and now, the Fentanyl problem, for Trump to let it slide.
This, like the War on Drugs, is doomed to fail.

I've seen numerous posts on social media from Trump cult fans defending the tariffs as necessary and they'd gladly pay more for everything.
Their whining over the price of eggs thing was always a sham.

A starting price of a Tesla truck of $5 million has a nice ring too it.

How are they going to react when unemployment goes up by 15 points, mom and dad lose their social security and health care, they're barraged by Go Fund Me appeals from their friends, and homelessness quadruples in their cities? More MAGA cheering?

It's got to be tough searching for the daily talking points to determine what your beliefs are going to be for a given day.

Helplessly Hoping.
Every time I hear it, I'm transported back to high school; listening to it on my car eight track player.
