The sprayed edges are a Canadian Special. Penguin Canada got an offer they couldn’t refuse from the printer and Lisa Jager got the design just right. I love them. The novel evokes, roughly, the period of the gorgeous Books of Hours in France so this is really well-suited. Book as object of beauty.
