So this just happened... #TinyWATCHS3 Revision P10 - First panel paste and final assembly after reflow. I still have to finalise the new case, but this will be back in stock VERY SOON! #maker #manufacturing #opensource #esp32s3 #watch

Leave me some greeting on my "/Uploads/- Put Greetings Here!" share out on RonsCompVids zone on #GlobalTalk! Happy #MARCHintosh!

Alpenglow Industry's Carrie Sundra has designed a clever adapter board that turns coin-cell battery footprints into USB power inputs.

What do you consider to be "high voltage"?

Bored? Midwest? Need your #reverseenginering? The Mad EE group is hosting Dmitry Grinberg March 12. Madison Wisconsin Central Library, room 104, 6:30-8:30pm Come on our, meet some other local hw/fw/sw peeps. Space is very limited so dm me if you are coming.

By me for @hacksterio.bsky.social, “The return of Pebble: you can’t keep a good watch down!” Some thoughts on @ericmigi.com’s announcement and the return of #Pebble. www.hackster.io/news/the-ret...

Using p5.js to map the vertices of the truncated icosahedron build. I'm always too lazy to make 3D mapping part of a project's design phase and I always regret it later on!

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

Precision Solder Pasting... Not so good on the photography ;) #electronics #manufacturing #technique

Paid my first tariff tax this week on order of PCBs for JLCPCB. My boards were $40 and tariff tax was $12 😡😡

Really?

this is the uA702, the first commercial analog chip (an op-amp). it was designed by the legendary Bob Widlar and went on the market in 1964 for $300 each. that's $2500 adjusting for inflation!

Electrochemical hour meter. (Saw it on Reddit). Current electrolyzes the mercury, which creates a moving dot... over time. www.reddit.com/r/AskElectro...

I transcribed the circuit an AI model gave me. Looks legit, doesn't it? Stop asking AI electronics questions.

A plea from a DMM manufacturer.

For the #makergiftexchange last week with friends, I made a POV clock. Using one RGB LED and a seven segment display, it draws up to 21 characters and a full circle of 180 virtual pixels on a spinning circular PCB. Loosely inspired by Bob Blick's "Propeller Clock." 🧵1/3

This isn’t everything I have that runs CircuitPython. It’s just what I currently have in arm’s reach. Because, reasons.

What in the absolute fuck is this

Circuit Python makes 4.81 megabytes seem like an infinite space on a microcontroller. Like the first time I used a 1.44 MB disk after years of 400 kb .

The first Black Magic Debug V2.0.0-rc1 Firmware major stable release candidate is out! This release is quite a massive step forward with a lot of new functionality! Please give this release candidate a try! Thank you everyone who contributed! 🙂 github.com/blackmagic-d...

I'm going to start a regular stream about #opensource silicon. Topics will include design, verification, #fpga, openlane, formal, #tinytapeout, #ASIC bringup, chip validation. If you're interested, please let me know what days / times work for you: doodle.com/meeting/orga...

New episode! Paul and Tod are back with the first episode of 2025. They discuss sunsetting Mu, synths, pinball, and more. Find the show wherever you get your podcasts or visit thebootloader.net

Functional design is functional.

I finally have this 32x32 LED matrix doing something that is almost useful. It took a FeatherS3 and some CircuitPython magic. I’ve had these panels for years but could never make things work out.

Deep etch into ferrite with a fiber laser works well. Time to make replacement recording heads for disk drives and video recorders!

"its more of a comment than a question" Don't be this person. Use the Q&A to ask interesting things or give the speaker a chance to clarify/show of. If you want a turn you should have submitted a talk. #Conferences #Academia

If you're into electronics, you need to check out Syd's live streams: www.twitch.tv/sydheresy

crazy results making pcbs on the fiber laser so far. playing with soldermask now!

Here I go streaming again!!!! Still working on boss battle content. Stop by and say hi!!!! www.twitch.tv/mookiejy4242

hint: a great holiday gift idea! (also i get paid money when you buy a copy)
