There were too many gun deaths, so we made it easier to get and carry guns, but then it got worse!! Maybe we can try mandatory carry laws? Tax breaks for machine gun purchases? Counting ammunition as dependents? I just don't know what could possibly solve this epidemic of gun violence???

When I was nut a wee little polisci undergrad in 2016, I asked my US Government teacher if a democracy could fail and what that might look like. He brushed me off. I should have written the book back then so that I could be a CNN special guest.

More annoying that this will be the followup. When you tear down and dislocate encampments, those people don't just disappear.
In a month, the same people who fought for this measure will be complaining about and influx of homeless people in the city.

There kinda is though. Unfilled units are sunk costs every month. Subsidized rent is rent.
Futher, when people are housing secure, they work, they earn income, and they spend money, which feeds into the local economy.
