I do not necessarily think the press is inherently Republican but I think that the press considers Republican presidents to be more legitimate than Democratic ones and OK I guess that does make them inherently Republican.

At some point you have to wonder why it’s worthwhile for these guys to maintain friendships with a lot of their Republican colleagues.

I love the Decemberists but as a rule I don’t think you can use the word “dauphin” more than once in your oeuvre.

This self-inflicted catastrophe is totally baffling.

it is kinda wild how there are like two members of congress left with any experience actually writing substantive law instead of tiny do-nothing riders to an NDAA or omnibus from hell

Bill is my hometown Congressman. Maybe my retired parents who hate Donald Trump should give him a call.

Oh good an update to the well-trod genre of “Jared and Ivanka are privately concerned” stories.

I cannot think of a single mainstream Democrat who has uttered the phrase “defund the police” except to denounce it. But it’s received wisdom that Democrats want to defund the police.

One time I sat next to Dick Durbin at a restaurant and thought about stealing a French fry off his plate while he wasn’t looking but decided against it and lately I really wish I had.

Jim the Flight Attendant at Chicago Airport who knows Ro Khanna on sight and calls him sir.

It’s never made sense to me that so many people buy into the lie that Trump is a big tough decider when clearly he just goes along with whatever the last thing he heard was. Media complacency on this subject runs deep.

We did it gang! That showed ol' Donny DRUMPF what we think of him!

This incredibly yonic ad has been following me around the internet all week.

omg this is so embarrassing.

I for one feel that my civil rights and the future of the republic are in safe hands!

I think with a little more effort we can get him to a full 0% approval.

In the landmark Supreme Court case You Can Shit In The Drinking Water v. No You Can't, the Court found 5-4 in favor of shitting in the drinking water. Susan Collins is said to be "concerned."

“Move away from the dominance of small-dollar donors whose preferences may not align with the broader electorate” buddy I promise you the random teacher who feels compelled to donate $30 is more in line with the broader electorate than a handful of financiers with the combined net worth of Norway.

The problem with living in DC is at any given moment the risk of walking by someone with Ivy League law school apparel on is unacceptably high.

Every Democrat in the country should say over and over again “Donald Trump and Elon Musk fired veterans on purpose” until it becomes received wisdom.

The New York Times would see Strom Thurmond's filibuster of the Civil Rights Act and give it so much glowing coverage that you could see it from space.

Why are all his kids named like extras in Harry Potter

For the 9-year-olds making up the intellectual scaffolding of this administration, having a full on meltdown in public in a way that will still be discussed a century from now is, somehow, an epic win.

I’m so confident that the media could, if they felt like it, muster 10% of the outrage for Trump pardoning a thousand violent seditious criminals and turning the DoJ into his personal revenge machine that they had for one college administrator’s arguable decades-old citation best practices failures

This is an ur text and I can't believe it's younger than the film "Avengers: Infinity War."

If I could blame one journalistic tic for the mess we're in, it's regarding random posts on social media as indicative of Democratic campaign strategy.

I have hated Tim Walberg, my hometown Congressman, for nearly twenty years and I’ve yet to be proven wrong in my initial assessment of him as a jackass.

The way Trump was able to wink-wink nudge-nudge out of being accountable for Project 2025 with the media in the campaign is such a damning thing.

Sunny and 60 here in DC today

Lori Trahan on CNN just now could not say whether or not Democrats' response to Elon Musk and DOGE was adequate, all she said was some word salad about "kitchen table issues."
