Second lunchtime protest outside the EHRC offices in Glasgow announced for tomorrow! Tell everyone!

"Can you work for the BBC and outwardly express opinions?" asks Radio 4 Today whose presenter Justin Webb routinely uses his platform on Radio 4 Today to express his negative views about trans people.

iosphere.beehiiv.com/p/1-a-very-b... @iododds.bsky.social asks about the elephant in the room: Does the EHRC and chair Kishwer Falkner really expect us to believe that 15 years ago the United Kingdom passed an anti discrimination law that was actually a comprehensive bathroom ban?

NEW: The Cass Review into UK trans healthcare is 'deeply flawed', containing biased research, outdated data, and manipulated evidence, an international team of experts has said Read more on this story: www.thenational.scot/news/2516682...

“Our lives are this queasy clash of realities: the normalcy of our every day vs the waking nightmare of staring, powerless, as media, public bodies, governments and the courts succumb, over eight creeping years, to the manipulation of anti-trans ideologues and the moral panic they put in motion.” 👏🏻😣

🏳️‍⚧️ FAQs 🏳️‍⚧️ Based on legal advice from a team of equalities lawyers, including a KC, we answer some of the pressing questions raised by the Supreme Court. The law is uncertain – but it’s almost certainly been misstated by the EHRC and ministers. goodlaw.social/bf2d17

The EHRC are really going to try and rush this through Remember when they forced us to have 3 whole consultations on the GRA Reform because the result kept supporting reforming it? We are going to have to be so intense about this. Completely flooding it and also fighting against them rushing it

This reads like more evidence that the interim EHRC guidance was drawn up by Kishwer Falkner and cronies, without input from neutral expert staffers. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

OMG the ILGA map has been released and this is how the UK looks under their Legal Gender Recognition section. They awarded us 6.57% WTF. rainbowmap.ilga-europe.org/categories/l...

🧵 The recent miscarriage of justice in the UK Supreme Court, where it created a class of people with fewer human rights than others, has led to two key developments. It has created an intersectional backlash against systemic transphobia in the political class, as well as embolden transphobes. [1]

I’ll tell you what I see when I look at the #RainbowMap 2025, which was published this morning, an absolute failure of government. The UK once stood proudly at the top of Europe on LGBTI legal equality. Now we’ve slipped into the yellow. Well done to all the countries continuing to make progress.

A chilling piece from @jessothomson.co.uk on what Labour's indifference or active hostility to the trans community in the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision means for the Far Right's target of choice. goodlawproject.org/the-devastat...

Good man, this is cultural allyship www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinbur... On bluesky - @streethistorians.bsky.social

Not a trans person. Not a drag queen. This is a cis woman and member of the church! Does this mean we should be restricting the access by cis women and self-identified Christians to children???

Israel is preventing the WHO from sending incubators into Gaza. Think about how savage, how barbaric, how evil, you have to be to defend that and defend the government doing that.

New essay! In the wake of the Supreme Court judgement, I reflect on woke ideology, standards of evidence, rampant lesbianism, and why the transphobes cannot possibly ever win.

Good article from @nickybandini.bsky.social archive.is/2025.05.04-1...

My favourite summation of the election results!

Just had a rueful only-half-in-jest comment from someone in Labour that Reform MPs have more influence over Number 10 (and are taken more seriously) than Labour backbenchers. Definitely a nasty mood out there (and Morgan McSweeney is the lightning rod for it).

Conversion practices are cruel, abusive, and have no place in a modern Scotland. The Scottish Govenrment promised action all the way back in 2021, but have only given us excuses. This puts LGBT+ people at continued risk of long-lasting harm. The decision must be reversed.

The person in charge of 'story-telling' at Labour works out of Policy Exchange, a Tufton Street outlet whose anti-trans stance is so extreme even the Sunday Times is embarrassed to carry it. The Right's takeover of Labour is complete. politicshomecom.cmail20.com/t/t-e-gpyhdt...

If you open the anti-trans HHS report’s appendix in NotePad, you’ll see that it was compiled by Alex Byrne. The appendix is a rigorous, scientific overview of systematic reviews. Alex Byrne is an MIT philosophy professor with no apparent background in science, let alone expertise in it.

Absolutely insane. Uneblieveable. "Sex Matters", one of the hate groups responsible for removing trans people's rights via the Supreme Court are arguing that trans people shouldn't be allowed to transition because they don't have rights and not having rights is bad. Fucking hell

Shabana Mahmood, herself a vigorous opponent of the rights and dignities of trans people, says they are not even supposed to question why the Supreme Court locked them out of proceedings about their lives. It's a proper, ugly, scandal.

An exceptional analysis of some of the 🤯 errors in the Supreme Court Judgment. Something has gone very wrong indeed. (Published by kind permission of @translegalproject.bsky.social). goodlaw.social/nid3

Today I've written to Bridget Phillipson to ask for clarity on how the government will ensure trans people's rights in the wake of the recent Supreme Court ruling and EHRC guidance. At a moment of extreme worry and distress for the trans community, govt must step up and give assurances.

Just announced by a coalition of Glasgow groups - lunchtime protest outside the local office of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, opposing their call for trans segregation. Friday 2nd May, 12pm-2pm.

This moment when the penny drops that trying to implement bathroom bans is an impossibility for the former Tory Chief Secretary Simon Clarke is delicious.

Seems like a good day to remind everyone that Auschwitz — a complex of over 40 concentration and extermination camps — was not located in Nazi Germany either.

Are Wes Streeting and NHS England covering up trans suicide data? 🧵

This Wednesday (16th April 2025), the Supreme Court will be issuing its judgement in a case taken by For Women Scotland against the Scottish Govt. Ahead of this, we've written a blog post to help you understand what the Supreme Court decision is all about. www.scottishtrans.org/what-is-wedn...

Worth a read

Remember: Cass is not peer-reviewed - and is therefore not “gold”, silver, bronze or even recycled plastic standard. IMO it’s just pseudoscience. There are now at least five damming, peer-reviewed critiques of Cass; all automatically of a higher standard, with at least two more in peer-review.

The more he ignores this, the more abhorrent he is.

Brilliant patient and defiant article by Monroe Bergdorf in Vogue. This needs to be shared far and wide. Every cis person needs to read it.
