Whatever the merits or demerits of trial by jury (and as any readers of my books know, I’m far from a true believer), if it asserted that jury trial is the fairest means of trying criminal allegations, anything else is by definition a lesser form of justice.

Nowadays criminal briefs are all electronic, so no papers and no ribbons sadly. Back in the day of papers, it was pink ribbon for defence briefs and white ribbon for prosecution briefs.
