Nebula Award nominations close in 9 hours! To all who enjoyed #SleepingWorldsHaveNoMemory: I would be honored if you stood together with me and extended the tower-shaped middle finger to all the dictators around the world.

Nebula and BSFA nominations close tomorrow. HAVE YOU NOMINATED? I HAVE! We live in difficult times, but you and your words have made them better. Here’s to the writers!

@jonficke.bsky.social’s beautiful “At the Ravenstone.” “I swept through the priest and reached out to touch my brother. My hand slipped through his shoulder to touch the rough granite of the Ravenstone …” So full of pain & life—even though one character is a ghost. For your Nebula consideration!

@bmorrisallen.com’s “For This Rich Earth” is deep and beautiful. “Paradise before the fall. Or maybe after. Whichever it was, he’d see what the planet had to say.” You do NOT know where this one is going. Each time, I was happy to come back to it. I cried at the end. For your Nebula consideration.

“Sunrise was a muted thing, a bit of pink visible through the canopy.” Poetically named “Adamere in Swan” is a beautiful novelette by @aphowell.com about the pull of the past, the things you secretly hate, and a made-up constellation that favors travelers. For your Nebula consideration, folks.

Pour ma part, mon #VendrediLecture sera "Sleeping Worlds Have No Memory", de Yaroslav Barsukov.

“As the capitalist reality spread, the pirates arrived in the publishing industry. From 1991 to 1997, the only Star Wars books to be published in Russia were pirated. Take a look at this 1997 edition I owned … The Russian title reads “Death Star.” Wait a second. That’s not the Death Star …”

“Simply put, this is the most impressive debut novel I’ve encountered since Simon Jimenez’s The Vanished Birds.” OH. MY. GOD. I’ve been a fan of Paul for a long time, and this review … it’s a gift, simply put. Thank you—and thank you to all who supported and keep supporting the novel. I love y’all.

Congratulations to all the Compton Crook finalists! As with all the novels that came out in November & December, I’m in for the next year.

"He’d almost allowed himself to believe the day was over and the rioters wouldn’t advance—but the howling sounded like an atonal prelude to something sinister..." So much tension in this excerpt from SLEEPING WORLDS HAVE NO MEMORY! @barsukov.com www.barsukov.com/books/sleepi...

High praise coming from the great @barsukov.com. If you’re reading for awards consideration and haven’t yet read “Bright Horizons” you can find it on the BSFA longlist or on the Nebula list here (or else dm me for a copy): www.sfwa.org/forum/readin...

Locus voting is open, but I won’t ask you to write me in; the magazine doesn’t have a good record when it comes to smaller publishers 🙃 BUT if you’ve read & loved my little BSFA-longlisted, FFA-shortlisted novel, pls consider thumbing it up on the Nebula Reading List: www.sfwa.org/forum/readin...

FIRE EXIT, @tinhouse.bsky.social presents Native American author Morgan Talty's debut novel, rightfully long listed for the @dublinlitaward.bsky.social! My 4.75*/5 review: expendablemudge.blogspot.com/2025/01/fire...

Maaan, Demi was amazing, but I wish I could unsee the movie itself!

Such a great discussion - really loved this author's work!

Had a BLAST talking to @electricsheepsf.bsky.social today!! To say it was wonderful is to say nothing at all. The only negative was the amazing @christinehanolsy.com missing.

Excited about meeting @electricsheepsf.bsky.social this Saturday! This is going to be absolutely fantastic. Practicing my Harrison Ford impression right now.

" Through the blooming headache, he imagined Mr. Turkin answering the receptionist: “I’m here to replace my son.” " Heartbreaking because it feels so very possible right now. @barsukov.com in @metaphorosis.com

Check out "There's Sometimes Light Down the Street" by @barsukov.com on StarShipSofa for some mind-bending ideas - and characters you'll love!

Our featured author this week is Yaroslav Barsukov! We're excited to check out some of his short stories, as well as his novel, SLEEPING WORLDS HAVE NO MEMORY! Read along with us! @barsukov.com

I... what?? "Katya Vasilievna" made the longlist for the @bsfa.bsky.social awards!! (It's at the very bottom of the Best Short Fiction list but I'm not reading anything into that.) See all the amazing longlisted stories, and British SF Association members, vote for your faves! #BSFAAwards2024

BSFA longlist just dropped, and #SleepingWorldsHaveNoMemory is a nominee for Best Novel!! Absolutely thrilled, incredibly humbled, and deeply grateful for your support on this wild journey, friends! Thank you! #BSFAAwards2024 bsfa.co.uk/bsfa-awards-...

Some news!!!! Thank you to everyone for sharing and supporting. Loving the adventure so far!! 💀

DELIGHTED to announce that I've signed my debut with Tenebrous Press! 💀🌸 An eco-weird novella about the afflicted survivors of a coastal nightmare! 🪸🦈 Go on, walk to the shore. You won't be able to help it.

Friends, pls boost! HOLY MOLY, #SleepingWorldsHaveNoMemory was nominated for Best Trad Debut Novel at the 3rd ANNUAL FFA AWARDS🏆! Run by @lordtbrffa.bsky.social & sponsored by none other than @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social. Pls consider voting for your favorites (not necessarily me)—it means A LOT.

#SleepingWorldsHaveNoMemory is trending on the Nebula Reading List—I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who liked/upvoted the book; you made one life bearable. Thank you. Despite despots sprouting in every corner, we have our beautiful writing community. www.sfwa.org/forum/readin...
