So, I had doubts… but that was really good. Super pull apart. Great 👍

FINAL
New York City FC 2-0 New York Red Bulls
A dreadful performance by #RBNY. The visitors looks apathetic on offense, Coronel with a huge mistake. MartĂnez looked like a star for #NYCFC, deserved a brace or more. Matt Freese not tested but gets the clean sheet.

72' This has been a better half offensively from the Red Bulls. Cameron Harper has been pushing up since he entered. But this team is, once again, lacking killers in the final third.

50' New York City Goal
Carlos Coronel just left the box and Maxi Moralez took advantage. Played around two defenders and diving Coronel trying to block to score his first of the season.
Terrible look for the Red Bulls keeper.

HALFTIME
New York City FC 1-0 New York Red Bulls
The number of times Alonso MartĂnez was able to go on a counter run, one on one or close to it, is five or more. #RBNY playing crazy high. No real attempts on goal minus a wide Choupo chance. #NYCFC rolling.

37' Alonso MartĂnez header goes wide right.
38' New York City chance, Red Bulls defender blocks shot. Another chance right after, another block.

30' Red Bulls controlling possession but nothing to speak of on offense. Best stuff is coming from attacking the right side, Birk Risa, versus the left side, Tayvon Gray.

23' Birk Risa and Kyle Duncan collide, might have bumped heads, both need a minute and trainers before getting up to be looked at further on the sideline.

19' Alonso MartĂnez with a chance for a brace. Long run but Sean Nealis was step and step with him to counter. The eventual shot was weak, low. Saved by Carlos Coronel.

13' New York City Goal
Nice team goal to give the home side the lead. Alonso MartĂnez with a long strike into the top left corner. Most of the Red Bulls were pulled left on the field, he pulled right.

6' Throw in to Alonso MartĂnez, in front of net on a run. He controls the ball but at a bad angle. Crossed in front of net, no one to finish off.
