What I like about this graphic is that it shows that supporters of different parties see very different policy solutions. It’s about policies, not personalities.

Nice when it works. The challenge is that they are the only ones taking food donations. Hundred charities looking for $

How big a problem is this? How many physicians have left the public system? It’s an easy target, but isn’t it also true that the number of patients that the average primary care physician sees has gone down? Comparatively, which is more significant?

And on people not familiar with the area. If a location with radar reduces accidents (before and after stats needed), then keep that site. If not, remove it because it is just a cash grab

An optimistic and hopefully not naive view. So many time though, folks have said “this can’t go on like this”, and yet it does. Entrenched interests are so hard to overcome that people trying to change things just give up eventually. Sincerely hope this is different. This time.

You can justify any amount if you want to. And clearly the City wants to justify a very large amount.

When cities make changes to the roads, my unscientific observation is that in the overwhelming share of the changes result in increased travel times for car drivers, as opposed to decreased travel times.

Health care in Ontario has been sliding downhill for years. But it’s still better than in Quebec. Nurses and Drs come to Ontario not vice versa.

Are you sure they are defunding healthcare? Implies healthcare spending is decreasing year to year.

I understood that you don’t think shortage of supply of housing (NIMBY stuff) increases the price of housing and rent. Maybe I misunderstood

That’s it. A country should have control of its borders. It should be able to keep people out. Canada and the US are both doing a terrible job in this regard.
And you? Where do you stand?

A country should have control of its borders. Just my opinion…

I have no problem with removing people that are in the country illegally. The impact on housing costs is not the most important part of it, in my opinion .

Yes, I suspect it would reduce demand. It would also reduce supply to the extent that the people deported would have worked in the construction industry building supply. I can’t say for sure, but I suspect the impact of demand reduction would be larger.
comment in response to

Huh? If supply cannot be increased then for an increased level of demand price will be higher. Both supply and demand determine price. I’m not saying it only one.

Are implying that supply of housing and demand for housing may impact on price? What a concept.

Thanks for pointing that out. I never understood why private finance was ever in the conversation. If they aren’t providing $ on a charitable basis, what is the point?
