Congress has the ability to fund and defund departments. Not the executive branch. If the Republican Party wants to defund USAID and the Dpt of Education. Then pass a law. But having the executive do it without Congress violates separation of powers and the constitution. Republicans are responsible

Executive shuddering of USAID needs to be focused on. People can disagree over how much support we offer and that is fine. But the president does not have the authority to close an agency without congressional action. The real issue is if Republican congress cannot check unlawful executive action.

Bob Woodward stated that Trump is trying to recreate the Imperial as Presidency. Basically a presidency in which all power is vested in his hands. Is that what Washington, Madison or Jefferson would want?
