In his reflection of events he lamented the fact, not that he’d almost shot an innocent noncombatant child, but the PR nightmare that might have happened if someone with a camera had been there. He was more concerned about his reputation than the life of the Iraqi child he could have extinguished!

I’ll give you a personal example; former Iraq War veteran friend of mine once went on about how he literally got spooked by a child running around a corner and almost pulled the trigger on his weapon he aimed right at the kid.
