If this means Spurs keep Ange, this could have silver linings, because over the course of a season they are going absolutely nowhere with him. If they get rid, hire well and invest well, they could be half decent again. As for United, they're utterly screwed in every way.

Just shoot, United. Vicario has a rick in him.

Watching Hojlund for United is quite like watching Sterling for Arsenal. There's effort, you can't fault that, but....not a lot else.

As someone who wants United to win tonight, I'm starting to feel very sorry for all the people that have to do that every week. They're absolutely dire. It'll be very interesting to see how much Amorim is allowed to rip up this summer.

A goal that absolutely sums up this game so far. As scrappy as you'll see. Looks an own goal too.

United winning tonight is quite comfortably the better outcome than the other, unspeakable, one.

It annoys me how good a singing Marmoush is for City.

We used to be criticised for just consistently finishing in the top four. Now we're being criticised for consistently finishing second. Chris Sutton, on the BBC match page, got absolutely ratioed for saying 'second is last'. Because it isn't and he's an idiot. Many would swap for our situation.

Good example of the striker effect, but in reverse to how it usually works for us. If Isak plays, we don't win today and we're certainly losing at half time. They created openings in that first half exactly into the pockets he takes up. But he wasn't there. Thankfully.

Extraordinary goalkeeping at both ends so far. Somehow 0-0.

Raya so far - distribution: very poor, saves: outstanding.

Earlier today a Brentford player was booked for blocking Leno when he wanted to release Fulham quickly. That was good refereeing. It also happens to Raya every match and no-one gets punished for it, which is less good. Has just happened again.

Ref has already ignored two blatant Newcastle dives - one, as usual, from Gordon. Good signs.

Like this from the referee in West Ham-Forest. Adding time to added time because of Forest’s timewasting. That’s the correct thing to do - add the time back.

This video is a perfect example of what @tim-stillman.bsky.social wrote about last week's @arseblog.com column - a measured interview with no excuses, just determination, and a misleading headline leading to a comment section of people claiming he's whining. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ztem...

It's so awesome that in a time of cynicism, corporate PR and spin, that we have a club that recognises and engages with fans as happened tonight (savvy as it also is, the more you think about it). Very jealous that I wasn't there, but a massive hat tip to those who follow, write, and deserve this.

Man this is incredible and a testament to everything @arseblog.com and @arsenalvisionpodcast.com have built. So much love for two amazing people. Real fans, no click bait. Proper game discussion.

One game to go and neither United nor Spurs have reached 40 points. We really are living in a weird timeline.

Liverpool: 36 games, 83 points United/Spurs: 74 games, 77 points Liverpool need one point to confirm that they'll have more points that United and Spurs combined. Extraordinary.

Brilliant graphic. The Tomiyasu line makes me sad.

I like the ideal of only captains being able to speak to refs, but it isn't realistic. If you get fouled and the ref doesn't give it, there's no realistic way you're going to leave the point making to the captain. Also, hasn't that rule existed and not been enforced for years?

Leicester v Ipswich is getting attention this weekend because of Jamie Vardy. But it really should be getting more, because of Man City. The clubs sit 18th and 19th, both on 22 points with two games left. The winner almost certainly finishes 18th. And maybe salvation if City are heavily punished.

Wishing him well. Very frustrating that he got this injury after the most blatant offside that wasn't given because they wanted to see what happened next. What happened next was very serious.

Interesting watching Liverpool fan defence of the Trent booing. Main line seems to be 'other clubs boo former players' (he isn't a former player yet) and 'he ran down his contract', which is a very two-sided situation. Does seem like online discourse swept the crowd, which is unusual.

I really hope we can rest legs and beat Newcastle next week. End the home season well, beat a team who have caused us pain in recent years, and secure second, all in one go. Then relax.

As I said earlier, the first half was a microcosm of the problems we've had in the second half of the league season. But the reaction was equally an example of what Arteta has done. Previous Arsenal teams would, and did, go on to lose heavily in these games. They don't do that anymore.
