Me too. The thing is that Arteta have proven repeatedly that he doesn't use players as we might imagine, so given that we don't know exactly how he'd deploy either option, it's hard to favour one over the other (or indeed, other options).

The weird thing is that they way they've played in Europe makes sense, and then they go back to crazy high lines in the league...

It's also annoying that despite them being awful, we keep not beating them.

And also whether you're an attacker or a defender.

Failing that, I'll take a mass brawl that sees the winner suspended from next season's Champions League...

I love that this is now the clip that defines him.

Seeing so much 'Arteta has to win next season'. No he doesn't. We see the progression, and we want to see more, as does he. But as he correctly says, all you can do is keep putting yourself in contention. If someone is better, someone is better. But it is not as binary as 'win next season or go'.

The real shame is that without the trolling headlines, the interview by itself is well worth watching and engaging.

What's a real shame is that the interview itself is great and worth watching without the slant.

The Sky interviewer asks him at one point whether red cards and injuries hurt Arsenal. He says yes. The video then leads with the idea that he's making those excuses for the season. He never does that, and he hasn't been doing that all season. It's really annoying.

He's a weird mix of someone who wants to be liked by media and other fans (and often gets frustrated when that doesn't happen) and incredibly classless in the moments that count.

That is extraordinarily cool. Looks like a great night.

Indeed, and every time they say 'no really, we'll enforce it this time', it lasts until November, tops.

Defensively too. He was a big presence defending set pieces, which we've not been great at since he and Gabriel got injured.

Totally agree with that, but think the strength of the middle contributes partly to the drop off in points from teams finishing 2nd-6th, and actually, in emphasising the crapness of United and Spurs. On that last note, I wonder whether our 8th place teams from a few years back would be lower now.

I actually agree that the middle of the Premiership has improved massively, largely due to money available. That leads to European qualification continuing to be the most interesting 'end to the season' factor, and our middle teams continuing to do very well in the secondary Euro competitions.

I know there's only a few dates left, but still.

That's going to make the backstage atmosphere for the US and UK legs....interesting.

What happened? I thought the two bands were great friends and that's how the tour came about...

That also bodes well for keeping the squad together. If they fight at this late stage of a season, they believe in where he is taking them.

Absolutely. We saw it happen painfully often at Liverpool, City and Chelsea.

That's fair - I've never seen him mumble and talk across an interviewer so much. Everyone needs a holiday...

I think that's because rival fans just read the headlines. Even tonight, Sky are analysing his interview as if he were listing excuses, when he did the precise opposite.
