I am an animal lover! I do volunteer work, and I believe in real democracy. Left leaning but able to have healthy convos with people of differing opinions. Everyone deserves respect, until they don't.

Here’s what Hegseth wrote about treating American protesters: www.huffpost.com/entry/pete-h...

apnews.com/article/pete... All of this is concerning. But what really stands out 2 me is his focus on "lethality" this is not a man who wants 2 prevent wars. This man is bloodthirsty and will do whatever it takes 2 start wars so he can kill those HE deems enemies. He is a loose cannon, ready 2 blow

Public library energy is the best energy. Like here is all the knowledge we could find, it's been meticulously organized and vetted and it will cost you nothing today, welcome to the absolute pinnacle of human civic evolution, feel free to pull up any bean bag chair you like

really is worth getting some clarity on this question: both in terms of what people are describing sociologically and also what people are using the term for rhetorically

We’re not going back.

There can only be one me. Help me let @bsky.app be aware that I’m the real me. Many thanks, Mar🐫 🙏 ♥️ 👍

Some say that compassion, kindness, and love are weaknesses, that they make people soft. On the contrary, they force people to be vulnerable and take emotional risks, and that takes tremendous courage.

Don’t let it all harden your heart. That’s the real rebellion.

Perhaps more of the legacy media should have pushed back on his lies at the time. @democracydocket.com did.

When I was a child, I learned that the Constitution didn’t apply to people like us. I said the Pledge of Allegiance from inside a barbed wire camp, the words “with liberty and justice for all” wholly meaningless. But I did not give up on America. I’ve spent my life fighting for its ideals.

True words have never been said.

I became less and less active on social media after 2020. I thought I was just burned out after how intensely active I was b4 the 2020 election. Now, I think it was just because Twitter was sucking more and more. Bluesky has reminded me how good social media can be when it isn’t a toxic snakepit.

I love this.

Tammy Duckworth on Tulsi Gabbard: "I think she's compromised ... Russian controlled media called her a Russian asset."

An immigration policy expert, @daralind.bsky.social, helps break down what “mass deportation” would mean concretely: what could happen in what spaces, and who’s doing it. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/21/o...

I think we know if he did release that list, he would be screwed six ways to sunday.

I used to shy away from posts like this. I agreed with the sentiment-- teachers are always, always about taking responsibility-- but posting such bold and unlikely sentiments felt like I wasn't going to win friends. I wanted to be a moderate lefty. Not go overboard.

Just a reminder of what ineffective hatred and demagoguery is good for.

I would drive on this road in Winter
