I persuaded the husband to go and see Sinners after I saw it yesterday and raved about the way it uses music. He’s just got back and stood outside the front door but I refused to invite him in. This is why we are still married.

Out of curiosity what did you call the playground game consisting of jumping in patterns in and out of a big loop of elastic held around the legs of two other girls? A pal and I are at odds despite coming from nearby towns at a similar time. Apols to boys who also played this!

I’m very excited to read this even though I’ve not fully forgiven @petemc666.bsky.social for the gut wrenching and appallingly inevitable end to the Rose Throne quadrilogy.

Hard Truths is a stunning film and Marianne Jean-Baptiste deserves all the awards for a heartbreaking performance. But I recommend you do something cheerful afterwards. We listened to Laurie Anderson’s Desert Island Discs with is as gently mellow and bonkers as you would wish.

Tonight’s cinema trip is to see Becoming Led Zeppelin. I have a cup of tea and M&S shortbread fingers because rock n roll 🤘

Just finished James by Percival Everett. It’s a retelling of Huckleberry Finn from the POV of Jim. It’s so much more than that: furious, truthful, essential. A masterpiece.

I just… 😢

This is exciting. Whenever I’m in Eryri I’m always a little bit sad that there’s no chance of spotting a golden eagle soaring overhead. Hope this works out.
