RFK Jr. went on Fox News and lied through his teeth. He said they weren’t cutting critical research. Terminated grants so far have included studies on cancer, Alzheimer’s, HIV, and tuberculosis. Ohio researchers lost funding for kidney disease and TB projects. This guy doesn’t care about health.

In an absolutely devastating ruling, the Supreme Court has allowed the transgender military ban to go into effect. This is shocking - the ban explicitly called transgender people dishonorable for being transgender. It is as clear as day soaked in animus. www.supremecourt.gov/docket/docke...

They’re coming for the arts, kids: “The NEA is updating its grantmaking policy priorities to focus funding on projects that reflect the nation's rich artistic heritage and creativity as prioritized by the President. Consequently, we are terminating awards that fall outside these new priorities.”

I’m writing a paper on Parable of the Sower, and how Earthseed is an Afrofuturist tool for processing trauma and looking towards better futures amidst an apocalyptic hellscape.

The National Endowment for the Arts withdrew and canceled grant offers to numerous arts organizations around the country, sending a round of email notifications out just hours after Trump proposed eliminating the agency in his next budget.

I’m looking up flights to London while on the train to Manhattan to see one of my best longtime friends from high school. Sometimes life is hard, but sometimes it is really, really good.

I have never seen anything like this in NYC. 5th Ave covered from 42nd St well to the 20s. Nobody prepared for this volume. Volunteers are holding the traffic on all the side streets. No police in sight. #handsoff

$80m for local democracy is insane, but at least the billionaire couldn’t buy it www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

The world is a lot better with trans people in it. Happy trans day of visibility!

Buy physical copies of books, especially banned books. Plan visits if you can or download/back up picts of places you’ve been. Journal about your experiences and about what’s happening now too. We won’t see the end of this in our lifetime and we need a record of what is happening.

After NCECA, I’m hopeful about what employment will look like after I graduate. There are so, so many options for artists. It will be hard, but it will be good.

Are we great again yet?

I wasn’t even allowed to sleep over a friend’s house on school nights.

I don't want Canada or Greenland… I want PBS, Social Security, and The Smithsonian. CAN YOU SAY THE SAME?! 🤚

I’m headed to #nceca today! Do I have any ceramics friends who are also attending? I’d love to meet you!

It has been a wonderful spring break. Got some work done; got some BG3 done (I only play on breaks!). I’m ready to get my hands into some clay and start doing some woodworking again!

millennials will be like i know a banger and it's the reading rainbow theme song. and they're right

Idk how to tell you guys that art school is just as much work as any grad program. The work looks different, but there is just as much research, blood, sweat, and tears.

I suppose I should introduce myself! I’m Becca! I live in NY and I am in an MFA program for studio art (ceramics/sculpture). My work is about grief and loss and what the “journey” of grief would like like if it were a physical realm.

Trying to slowly untangle myself from meta. I have to keep insta for my work but fb is just awful. I have so many friends who only use it and I cannot understand why.

If you’re upset by a woman prophetically speaking truth to power, allow me to introduce you to Jesus’ mom: “God has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. God has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.” -Luke 1:52-53

This isn’t a “seems like” or “appears to be” event… It was intentional, deliberate, and unequivocal.

Hey y’all.
