Slava Ukraini!

Slava Ukraini!

Our state stands strong with Washington’s Ukrainian community.

Trump and Vance have repeatedly claimed that Zelensky has not been sufficiently grateful for U.S. support throughout the war. We compiled instances where Zelensky has publicly expressed gratitude to the U.S., its people, and its leadership for being Ukraine’s largest supporter.

💔😭

Thank you, Bishop Taylor and the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. 🏳️‍⚧️⚓️

Dear Manager, this week I: 1. Tumble out of bed and I stumble to the kitchen 2. Pour myself a cup of ambition 3. And yawn and stretch and try to come to life 4. Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin' 5. Out on the street, the traffic starts jumpin' with folks like me on the job from 9 to 5

How would the Trump administration's agenda to cut federal funding to education impact you where you are? We asked a local school board member of 6 years and here is what we found out 👇

make me ready, Lord, for whatever

I will continue to hold hope that my colleagues will evolve, just as they've evolved before. We will not erase our youth's existence.

Should of never been hired🙄💥

The termination of 850 Indian Health Service physicians, nurses, and dentists will have a grave impact on access to care for millions of Native Americans. Upholding our treaty obligations is not optional.

How long before they argue that admitting Black students at all is "discrimination" against white people?

Every member of the House is back on your home turf for congressional recess. We’ve got events scheduled across the nation to get their attention — because fighting back against the Trump-Musk coup is going to take all of us: indivisible.org/muskorus

R. O Lord, have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us.

Lighten our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord;

The peace of God, which passeth all understanding

“.. In my 20-year law enforcement career, this is one of the most horrific crimes I have ever investigated,” Captain Swift said at a news conference on Friday.” @nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2025/02/15/n....

The Trump regime wants to un-fire nuclear safety workers but can’t figure out how to reach them. Idiots! Idiots! Emails sent: “The termination letters for some NNSA probationary employees are being rescinded, but we do not have a good way to get in touch with those personnel.”

If you thought it wasn’t possible—well, here we are. Musk pulled $80 million in funding authorized by Congress straight from NYC’s bank account. The federal government took the funds and called it a “clawback” of taxpayer money. A lot of others would simply call it stealing.

Some federal employees who accepted Trump’s buyout offer are now being notified that their buyout has been denied, and they are being terminated instead.

Two possible reactions: 1) Continue on the trajectory that got us here in the first place by discarding this as “just Trump being Trump” 2) Grapple in earnest with the fact that Trump asserts dictatorial power as the providential leader tasked with saving the nation. This is acutely dangerous.

Remember when they mocked us for saying that democracy is on the ballot?

“The thing that I can’t get over is that the actual richest man in the world directed my fucking firing. I make $50k a year and work to keep drinking water safe. The richest man in the world decided that was an expense too great for the American taxpayer.”

This is probably the most accurate take.

The Sunday gospel readings for the next two weeks are real heart-of-the-matter stuff. Jesus would like to have a word with us.

If you are preaching this Sunday, follow Karl Barth’s dictum: read the lectionary then read the news. And let your sermon write itself. Blessed are the poor. Woe to the rich. Sunday Musings open.substack.com/pub/dianabut...

One of our supporters shared this with us—people are getting creative tonight!

FFS. You think? Lord, have mercy. “We won the last election by complaining about Democrats’ policies, which gave us high prices. Tariff lovers will be forced to explain the persistence of high prices,” Paul said on X.

A judge just blocked Elon Musk and co-president Donald Trump from firing the financial cops at the CFPB who protect consumers from Wall Street scams. There's power in fighting back.

Musk’s DOGE website has already been hacked. There are the morons being given free rein of our federal agencies. 😡

What happens when Trump ignores the courts? An answer that some aren’t gonna like…

"What is needed, now more than ever, is for courageous people to face this death, name it, and make room for something new to be born."

🧵"So this is how liberty dies..." Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up. I’ve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9

A reflection on hope on a snowy night. “Hope," writes Duke professor Norman Wirzba, "is a way of being in which people commit themselves to the healing of our wounded world.” Hope isn't something we have. It is something we do. Wednesday Wisdom open.substack.com/pub/dianabut...

St. Peter’s invites the diocese and larger community into a weekend of listening, reflection, and conversation dedicated to the throughline of this particular history, the realities of our sociopolitical present, and invitations of resistance and solidarity in our shared future.
