refugee from X cesspool. hopefully a surviving witness to Trumpocalypse 2.0. I block MAGA, if you voted for Trump you have nothing intelligent to say and I have no desire to waste a moment of time engaging with you. I don't care if it bothers you.

they don't actually pay 40% but even if they did they are the ones who have all the goddamn wealth. they are not taxed on worth but income. The top 10% own 70% of all wealth, they are not taxed at 70%

4 goddamn GOP Representatives who loved America could end all of this now by becoming independents and making Jeffries Speaker of the House.
we are so fucked right now.
if you are MAGA you are the enemy of civilization

it was incendiary bombs. sprinklers wouldn't stand a chance against something like that. how many he had I don't know but this is why incendiary devices are so devastating.

I've lived in Micronesia, Mexico, Austria, China, and the United States. you can feel at home anywhere if you learn the language and appreciate the culture. I lived in Oaxaca and Shanghai each for 7 years, went to Uni in Austria. shorter time in FSB but could have stayed forever if given chance

but countries that are far less of a patriarchy face the same issues. Norway is at 1.5, Finland at 1.4 with these countries being listed as happiest in the world. Guam is in the US but is 2.5 but that is the ONLY place in US or Europe that is above. Israel is at 2.9, highest is Niger at 6.6
comment in response to

i don't buy it primarily due to one word: water. I lived n Oaxaca for many years, there simply isn't enough water for everyone to live in urban areas. of course it depends also on how you define an "urban" area. potable water will be our biggest challenge.

if you picked up a history book you'd see 120 years ago there were FAR more farmers but, and it wasn't magic, far fewer farmers were able to produce far more food at far less cost due to something called TECHNOLOGY.
i have to mute you because you are just too stupid and racist to ever read again

this is just sheer idiocy. FFS. tell me you are someone who has NEVER lived in a third world country without saying you are.
this notion that we have to have an ever increasing population to have growth is ludicrous as though automation and productivity enhancements don't exist.
such utter shit dude

Globally, the total fertility rate was 2.3 children per woman in 2023. you do know that is ABOVE replacement rate, right? oh , right, the WRONG type of kids are being born (ie not white) so that is a problem.
maybe it will be below in future but maybe not.
jfc you racists should stay on X.
comment in response to

maybe. or maybe not. no one predicted the baby boom. they expected more babies after WW2 but not something that would last 20 years of big families at a time when infant mortality plummeted.
comment in response to
post
pretty much very few people actually have enough money to have kids, having them is a leap of faith. I know, I have 3 and we didn't have a pot to piss in when we had all of them. our house is too small but each kid has his own bedroom even if 3 bedrooms are in finished basement.

wtaf? so women don't get lonely or have mental health issues? i'd have thrown in that as well though I get your point that is what the incel weirdo pieces of shite go on about but let's face the reality a lot of it is due to men's unreasonable expectations of who will find them attractive.

I don't understand your logic. if poor people from Guatemala are willing to move to US to work and the US needs the workers to do that work why are you against them coming?
yes, I'd love for there to be a higher quality of life in Guatemala but that is not going to be achieved for a host of reasons
comment in response to
post
but Japan and South Korea ARE putting in a host of things to increase fertility but it is still failing. you can't force women to have babies against their will in those countries. now granted in those countries they are too patriarchal but even changing culture won't solve the problem.

she thinks she is hot? with that nose job? she will not age well.
if the nose job made her feel more attractive that is fine, a healthy self-esteem is important but self-esteem based on having gotten plastic surgery is fleeting.

I wonder if Trump will do some select other exemptions going forward for some people who bribed him and who publicly bend the knee to him.
I don't think Trump would care if tariffs affect rich liberals in Upper East side, he only cares about his high end donors and supplicants
comment in response to

but that is not the case for high end cars or actually a lot of things the rich like (like Champaign or Italian wines)
this is just a gift to Tim Apple and other silicon valley tech bros.
and actually an Iphone is bought by poorer people as one of few "luxuries" they can pull off

jfc. animals in the wild live far shorter, horrific lives than our pets do. my dog was attacked by another dog, he got stitches and antibiotics, in the wild he could have died from an infection. raw food is akin to feeding him rats I catch in a barn.
comment in response to

wtaf? of course that is an issue for Japan and South Korea to figure out. I am making the point that the solution of lack of births in one country is to welcome people from countries that for whatever reason have birthrates well above replacement level.
and screw that defeatist talk about repeating

and hell no you didn't "show me" anything as the example you listed had NOTHING to do with this. this is a poster who directly came out and advocated for murder.
the fact you are incapable of recognizing that tells me you are a vile man. i mute psychos so bye bye.

um...have you seen who is President now? you want to take that risk now? they are snatching people off the streets and deporting them to foreign gulags.
you don't think they won't lock someone up for months, delay due process because of this?
you can resist without advocating violence. do that

sorry but I can't be associated with this type of language. holding a sign is legal, advocating for an assassination is illegal. so I am going to mute the hell out of this conversation. and to be clear I don't believe you have any intent to do anything but still strongly disapprove of such language

i loaded up on all of that during the interregnum. i even bought a new Google phone even though my old Galaxy is functioning ok. we are only on day 81.
the question to me is will Trump destroy our economy before our democracy or the reverse? if first democracy might survive, second neither will
comment in response to

again, this could be viewed as being clearly illegal and an incitement to an assassination. i have to imagine you are not saying you will attempt it yourself and you are just venting but I strongly advise you not to make such implied threats. this is not "fighting" it accomplishes nothing.

yeah Kim Jong the second could be some nice trolling about how a supposedly communist paradise has a family dynasty. A1 is just nuts. if I were in audience I would have assumed it was some new pedogogical designation for new curricula being A is first letter of alphabet and 1 first number.

you sound like a Trumpanzee, no one can ever criticize the dear leader even after they make a boneheaded mistake.

yes, this is a problem in places like South Korea and Japan. it isn't impossible to move there, my white friend married a Japanese woman (they never had kids though) but shares of immigrant populations in both is very low. Japanese citizenship is conferred jure sanguinis (of the blood) versus soli.
comment in response to

i watched it to see the total lack of any non-white people there.
this is a legit issue in Japan, South Korea, etc. because they don't welcome immigrants in, but we would never run out of people even if no one had babies as we took in immigrants (and will again)
comment in response to
post
in that CNN clip not a single non-white person did I see. not just no black people, no Asians, no Native Americans...nada.
low fertility rates are a problem in South Korea, Japan, etc. but this because they don't bring in immigrants from high fertility nations. we CAN and have.

the primary reasons I ever considered voting for any Republican is FREE TRADE and strong against Russia. i hated Dem protectionist nonsense to protect union workers but I understood the desire, now Dems are doing it to protect BUSINESS owners who have crushed unions. make it make sense
