That might be why none of the places in the article are in Dublin.

Oh hey, I do that too!

Though I am given to understand that wanting to change 'for others' is not as good as wanting to changing for oneself. But maybe I can work on that in therapy too or something.

Anyway, super curious what my therapist and team will want to do with this going ahead. I'm open to changing, because it's hard to be a good partner or parent when my feelings are kept in a storage unit on the other side of town and only accessible after filing the appropriate paperwork.

My most consistent piece of negative feedback at work is that I need to look happier. So I do that! It feels super awkward! And probably creates more problems because now 'showing feelings on purpose' is a work thing in my head!

Like, if I'm sad-- am I crying sad, or just sniffling sad, or frowning sad, or cuddling under a blanket sad? And isn't it easier to just sit perfectly still and stare into space until the feeling passes, because anything else is just a pathetic cry for attention?

(If you do it you'll know. I'll get all wall-like.) Also apparently most people don't decide if they're going to express a feeling or not, it just happens? How does that work? I always feel super fake expressing feelings because I have to decide what to express and how before anything comes out.

Same for many Disney movies. Like hell am I ever watching the opening to Up again. Or any part of Tangled. Also it apparently isn't normal to feel like people are being super invasive and predatory when they press me on what I'm feeling? (Don't worry, if we're still friends you don't do that.)

I'm going for another week of time off work, mainly because that's what I originally asked work for and they said yes so, like, why not? But then it's back to normal life with mental health treatment running in parallel.

Pretty great, aren’t they?

We have several books and will get more as Little B gets older. I’m thinking next will be @erikamoen.bsky.social’s Lets Talk About It. The books are a great jumping off point for conversations.

Not sure yet! I meet with my team tomorrow, we will see what they say. Definitely surprised at this development but it feels right.
