Trump birthday parade sponsored by coinbase

The #NoKings march in Dallas, Texas is HUGE!

This is heartbreaking. (via someone at the St. Paul rally)

#NoKings Reno

🥹 Millions of Americans are coming together on this #NoKings Day to reject authoritarian overreach, defend democracy, and stand up for their communities.

I'm floored. This is ONE stretch of ONE side of the street in deep red, small town Knoxville, TN today. This is a city that Trump won in 2024 by 20+ points. The scope of these protests are massive—American from both sides of the aisle are pissed. There will be no kings.

Despite warnings from the law enforcement not to attend today’s No Kings rally after this mornings shooting of Minnesota lawmakers with the killer on the lose, the No Kings Rally is happening at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.

Feels like just in my lifetime the tech industry went from solving problems to pretending to solve problems, to creating problems

#ICYMI: In April, we reported that at least a dozen members of Congress wrote to the Trump administration with questions about citizens detained, questioned and even held at gunpoint by ICE agents. None of them received an answer. By @nicolefoy.bsky.social‬

An advance look at “On Parade,” David Plunkert’s cover for next week's issue. #NewYorkerCovers

As a four-decade veteran of the daily journalism business, let me tell you: Every competent political reporter in this country knows that Trump is trying to establish a dictatorship. The industry's shame is that so few journalists will say so, and the ones who do lose their jobs.

Someday we’re going to need to retract every federal publication, policy modification, and guidance document prepared under this administration to prevent further propagation of outright lies, amateur errors, and disinformation.

Sorry, cancer patients, but we just don't have the money. We had to prioritize spending tens of millions on a military parade so the president could compensate for his many personal inadequacies. I'm sure you understand.

The first civilian detained by U.S. Marines in Los Angeles was an ARMY VETERAN on his way to a VA APPOINTMENT

If you aren’t already following this historian, trust me you should remedy that You will learn things

From the last time Americans said "no kings"

Fell behind on Andor, so am catching up. Watched Episode 9 this evening. You know. The wild one where they arrest a Senator after manufacturing a fake crisis that required the military to put down protestors. So unrealistic.

It's mind-blowing how little attention this extraordinary statement has received. It's briefly mentioned in a couple news articles, but this MSNBC opinion piece is the only extended discussion of it I've seen: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

That would be Colonel Anne McClain on the International Space Station. West Point graduate, engineer, rugby player, helicopter pilot, astronaut, Marshall scholar, combat veteran: all stuff the current administration and especially current Pentagon wants to keep women from doing.

The Senate bill aims to effectively end all civil rights lawsuits against the federal government except by entities rich enough to potentially pay million/billions in fees. I am not making this up.

Who else nearly fell out of the seat when you heard Cosplay Kristi accuse Sen. Padilla of “political theater”?

The USA is going to be in the control group. 🧪🦠

“presumably things are just disappearing into a void” Republican central governing principle is YOLO hope everything works out 🤷‍♂️

Quick vibe check at the NIH, per a staffer there: "We have lost so many people: we have no comms, no HR, no acquisitions, no one to do travel or purchasing. So many people have left that there are chains of email bounces..."

Siri, what form of government is this called?

RFK Jr’s ACIP pick, Martin Kulldorff, said one of the most disturbing images from the pandemic was a toddler crying about having to wear a mask. I see toddlers cry about everything all the time, and I found it far more disturbing to see refrigerator trucks full of body bags outside of the hospitals…

NEW: So much for Mr. "Law and Order" President—Trump pardoned nearly everyone convicted of assaulting police on January 6th, said those insurrectionists were right, purged the prosecutors, and boasted that he had "removed the senior FBI officials" who, in his words, had persecuted the "J6 hostages."
