Careful, that rabbit hole goes very deep !

It should be fine. From what i get Cavill seems to have a good grasp of what 40k is about. And given the importance of this IP, they shouldn't have trouble finding good writers with a passion for the product, Graham McNeil said he was interested for example.

If he slandered them based on forged proofs, he would have already been sued to the ground already. I would be surprised if every employees shared the same mindset, some of them might disagree with their superiors politics but keep a low profile to stay employed. Insider info is not unlikely.

Now i'm wondering how many Blood Angels players are also FC Bayern supporters.

Not surprising. Many players are frustrated with the current state of the game and might see that as fighting a poison with another poison. In my opinion: bad idea. The game no longer caters to a part of its playerbase, that's true, but pulling the rug back is not the solution. Make a bigger rug.

You are saying he is wrong while proving his point here.

Small sprites and no voiceovers pushes the players to add their imagination to the mix, which can help getting more invested.

Exigences really depend on the expectations we have from a game. That's the strength of fresh IPs like Chrono Trigger was. The player only expects to be surprised (successfuly in that case!) Games set on a realistic historical setting and established IPs however, will have it rougher.

Still plenty of fresh things on the indie side. AAA games though often have a clear disconnect with their core audience. By trying to cast as big a net as possible, they end up stretching themselves too thin. Players still crave authenticity, and they struggle to deliver that.

The morality and ethics of making erotic pictures based on fictional characters ? There is a laundry list of fandoms you might want to avoid then.

As long as it is within the scope of what the website's rules tolerate, it should be fine.

Calling in question an artist headcanon ? There is plenty of fanfic/fanart that i find cringe too, but calling them in question is a slippery slope i'd rather not take personnally.

This. When a game or movie is done with taste, by a team that understand and respect their audience, the public will always be welcoming. Another good proof of that is Baldur's Gate 3.

Hopefully you're right and they are not pressured to do that because of Sony. Time will tell.

What's interesting with From Software games is that, by not trying to appeal to everybody, they ended up doing just that. And now they have a much wider audience than most modern games. There is clear lessons to learn here.

Nothing about the game itself really. Apparently from what i got, Asmongold reacted to a fanart, which triggered one of the devs who posted that he felt disgusted at the idea of Asmongold playing his game and... You can easily guess the rest.

Hitting the graphical plateau also means that the focus has been shifted on the visual style. And i'm all here for it!

Can't really talk about the other games since i haven't tried them, but Darkest Dungeon, Potion Craft, Dave the Diver and Balatro are absolute gems. Have fun!

It's not "a bit" of a departure. If it wasn't for a few elements and 2 words in the title, you'd be hard pressed to think of it as a Dragon Age game, it's that different. While there may be some overlap, Veilguard feels like it's aimed at a different audience compared to Origins for example.

I wished for the DD licence to be out of Hasbro's grubby hands. But Musk? That would be one hell of a Monkey Paw.

He didn't invent writing and arithmetic either. What a fraud!

It might be a good idea to check Path of Exile 2 before buying Diablo 4 honestly. This game is shaping up to be a way more complete package for a way cheaper price. Also their studio proved to be far less lazy and scummy than Blizzard when it comes to adding new content.

I get it, it's not to your taste. And it doesn't have to be. Doesn't mean it's not a valid way to play that game, that's my point.

And i bet surviving this kind of campaign feels gratifying for players who enjoy that style of game. Nothing wrong with that.
comment in response to post
Lots of players enjoy this kind of game. And while that's not necessary my jam personally i can understand why. Adversity make the victory that much more sweet and earned. This style of play is just as valid as yours or mine in my opinion.

The Succession War would be tough to adapt in anime, that's for sure!

You have yet to discover Outer Wilds? Lucky guy.

Most of this game's problems stems from it having Dragon Age in the title. Remove that and it would have just been a decent game targeted at a very specific audience.

A DMG Should not tell you what NOT TO DO in the first place. As long as everybody around the table is in agreement, anybody should play the game as he see fit.

Sure, nothing wrong with adding Dave Arneson next to Gary Gygax then. That's also fair.
