crabdungeon.blogspot.com/2022/04/d10-... Here’s a pretty good list of divers to slot in!

The answers open up tactical possibilities, which is a reason to address it. Can you exchange information with them on the Bell? Can you follow them to an entrance you didn't know about? Can you steal their ship? Can you blackmail them with Commander Killroy or visa versa? This stuff matters! 4/4

What are their ships? Do they have names? What are these space weirdos like? Maybe there wasn't space, or Gearing didn't want to do your homework for you, or thought just leave it mysterious. But really it's something you've got to address as a Warden. 3/4

Rival adventuring parties ("divers") appear on the encounter table. Where are their ships? Are they docked at the Bell? If not, how are they getting in? And what does Arkady know about them? This is one of the very first things that will come up. To handle this, one has to settle a lot of stuff. 2/4

It's inevitable (eventually, one day)! I will reach out

Yeah I also did downtime exclusively on discord during tjay long campaign. It has its advantages, but I vastly prefer handling downtime at the table. But I have a sort of elaborate downtime game as core to the game loop.

One difference, besides video, is that I allow the party to collectively deliberate any time they want. So I don't like asking each player what they do separately each turn as the basic flow.

tbc I also ran an online game for 7 years that had maybe 30 players in total play, although not all at the same time, with 4-6 PCs in each session. Also did 3 hour sessions. So quite similar.

this seems lile a crucial point I didnt grasp. It's true that having to toggle to different windows and focusing on everyone at once is disorienting. I should try voice only!
comment in response to post
yeah part of being frustrated with it is seeing what it's like as a player. I have to actively take notes the entire time to focus on the game. People miss things in person, but they miss way more online I feel like

what does voice only do that video calls do not? how does it differ in feel?

We're building up to watching the new movie. But we are both so blown away by the original series--our jaws are hitting the floor each time we sneak another 30 minutes of viewing in. We're only like 5 episodes in so far.

That could be a lot of fun! Waking of Willowby Hall is great. I didn't recommend it to him only because he had never GM'ed before and that one seems a little tricky because it's so dynamic.

I'm going to try to write about the sessions I've played so far on my blog, but I'm so jammed these days. The tl;dr is that it's not hard to run if you have played OSR type games, but it is subtly different in re to when to call for rolls and how to adjudicate consequences.

Amazing! Why didn't I think to look at Sean's blog for this?

YES thank you, I've been wondering what mothership blogs are out there

Thank you! I was definitely planning on using Propsero's Dream as the home base. Good to have a list of some of these modules. I haven't read any of them

It had really neat class advancement, and tied weapons and class power to this really abstract and cinematic combat system. It was also a big influence on Break!! Best of all: it's free. www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/9...
