Yeah but if the chocolate-for-Big-Work compensation hasn't been adjusted since the 70s. If it had kept up with inflation, it would be like six chocolates by now. Hard to get motivated when I'm being robbed of five chocolates.

Also, China only holds about $850bn in US debt. It isn't trillions.

You're conflating multiple different things. Our investment in foreign aid is an investment in securing trade deals, intelligence partnerships, military cooperation, and more. USAID's total operating budget in 2024 was $32bn. That represents one half of one percent of the budget.

You do realize this would be a catastrophic loss in American soft power globally, and that it would be massive boon for China, right? Foreign aid isn't just a nice thing to do--it's an investment in protecting American interests abroad.

What is with you and anthropomorphizing fruit? It's so profoundly upsetting, and I'm considering filing some kind of lawsuit.

This guy has lived rent free in my head since he came out. When I saw he became a planeswalker I *literally* cheered out loud. Love my nerdy lil elephant.

Then imagine as you're sifting through the hay, you prick your finger on the needle--but then you still can't find the needle because it falls deeper into the hay or something. Nightmare scenario.

Underrated hobby: being overly thankful to service workers so they know that not everyone thinks they're subhuman.

The Democrats have already done all that. Do you not remember the Harris campaign? Him being a convicted felon and an adjudicated predator were central themes.
As for standing up to Trump's EOs--we have already seen a flurry of lawsuits filed.
The Dems are fighting back; I promise you.

What have the Democrats not done that 1) they could have done and which 2) would have had a material impact?

I’m not. I’m thrilled we took action on a serious national security threat. And, threat aside, I know from my time in the classroom that TikTok more than any other social media app is straight up melting kids’ brains.
